Oh, one other thing. You did a "WOW!" during Kanami's solo (lead guitarist and main composer for the band). She was just recognized by PRS Guitars with her own limited edition signature guitar. The first Artist from Japan to be honored with a PRS signature guitar. In the announcement ceremony, Mr. Paul Reed Smith actually presented her signature guitar to her in person. What an honor. They sold most of the 200 guitars in a matter of hours. Most are thinking she will get a permanent, non-limited edition soon and that would be a second honor. As there are only 9 other Artist that have that honor. with the likes of Carlos Santana, David Grissom, John Meyer, etc. 💚💚💚CONGRATULATIONS KANAMI!!!💚💚💚

Band maid was a seasoned band just four years after their start. Check out any of their song from their LIVE 2017 from Studio Coast venue in Japan. Very impressive for only four years together.

Great reaction! Regarding touring, they have toured internationally since 2016. They have done several US tours, the latest being in 2022. They have also toured Mexico and Europe several times too. You are very right that they are seasoned musicians, and live is where they really shine. Regarding the music video, this a normal "showing band playing" music video, not a live video, so they have just overlayed the studio recording with a video of them playing.They do have many live videos on their channel though. They all are highly recommended, because of high production quality. Some suggestions: Hate? live, Play live, Puzzle live.

As for tours, they were in Europe last about 6 years ago. In 2022, they did touring in Japan and the US. Their US tour lasted about a month, where they started with the Aftershock Festival and followed that up with a 13 city tour across the US...Starting in Seattle, then to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, New Jersey and ending in Chicago. In 2023, they celebrated their 10th Anniversary tour. Starting in Japan in January, then a quick jump to the US to open for "The Last Rockstars" a Japan super group of Rock Legends, in New York (2 back to back shows) and then a week later in Los Angeles. Then flew back to Japan for a city and festival tour. One being Knotfest Japan. Then in mid May of 2023, they were back in the US, with a 9 city/festival tour, starting in Houston, then Austin, Welcome to Rockville Festival in Florida. Followed by Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte and Detroit. Ending with 2 festivals Sonic Temple in Columbus, OH and KPNT 105.7 Pointfest in Maryland Heights, MO. Then returned to Japan for 4 shows. Then it was back to the US in August, opening with Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago as a last minute invite. They were also invited to play one of the "Aftershows" event and the next day, it was actual festival, to rave reviews by most of the media covering the event. First Japanese band in 13 years to appear at Lollapalooza. This kicked off another multi city tour starting in Minneapolis, followed by Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Spokane, Sacramento and Anaheim. Then they went south of the boarder and did a show in Mexico City, before returning to Japan to finish out their 10th Anniversary Tour, in which the tour finale was at Yokohama Arena in November. There biggest and longest concert to date. The setlist was 33 songs and the concert, with the MC breaks was 3hrs and 40 minutes. You should watch the Official live videos from this show...I'd start with "Hate?". I already suggested "Don't You Tell Me" from this show already.😆 Then at the very last minute as they were nearing the end of their tour, the added a show in Hong Kong in Dec.

These girls have been costantly touring for about 3 years now, I saw them on their US tour and they were awesome. May I suggest one of their recent official live videos. BAND-MAID / HATE? (Official Live Video). This performance will blow your mind!

The first tour in the USA took place in March 2016. Europe, Mexico, Hong Kong October-November 2016. That's more than 3 years.

The thing about this band is that these girls are so good at their instruments that they sound the same live. For example, Kanami, the lead guitarist, can play a solo live and that solo sounds exactly like the one on the record. It's not often I've heard her miss a note when they play live, so many new listeners assume it's pre-recorded or even faked. After following them for a while, you realize that they are actually as good as they sound. For some lucky reason, this band has amassed 5 virtuosos and to make it even more amazing, they are extremely talented at writing meaningful music that lasts even after hundreds of listens. Even when you know the song well, you suddenly hear something new in the music that you never thought of before. They are simply my favorite band, right up there with all the old classics. I am absolutely sure that one day they will achieve legendary status.

Bestie, in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, The One, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, was co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus. MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey, Band-Maid and Glasses! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV.

Great follow up reaction. You are correct, this is the studio version recording in this MV. Based on what you've mentioned, you really do have to watch them live. In many instances, their live recordings are just as good, if not better than their studio recordings. Having seen the Maids multiple times in the US and Japan, I can tell you "Bestie" sounds incredible live. For your next suggestion, I would suggest doing a two for with "Domination" Official MV, which is the studio recording of the song. Follow that up with the "Domination" Official Live MV from Line Cube Shibuya. You will see and feel the difference between the studio and the live. You could also do this with "Don't You Tell Me" as they have both a studio MV and a live MV (from the 10th Anniversary tour finale at Yokohama Arena). And then we Maidiacs can suggest tons of other amazing songs from the Maids. PO!🕊

As for the sound in the music video being recorded in studio versus live, there are a number of songs on the official Band-Maid channel that have both official live performance videos and MV versions, so if you're up for comparing and contrasting between the two, it would just be a matter of selecting which one... Only caveat is that there are several live videos from streamed soundstage performances without an audience during the COVID restrictions. As someone who has seen them several times on U.S. tours, I can testify that they always kick it up a notch when there's energy going to and from an audience.

Although no one beats the original (BM are stellar and instrumentally technical musicians), the one thing that the Missioned Souls kids have in their bag over Band Maid is Stacey's familiarization and command of the English language lyrics with her diction and enunciation.

Bestie was co-written by Band-Maid and Mike Einziger from the band Incubus. It's a cool song, but I prefer the songs that B-M does on their own. I recommend watching a live video from them. Don't You Tell ME is really good.

It was of course a Music Video with the studio track, they do make fantastic MV's but where they really excel is live and there is a ton to choose from on their channel. Hate? is the current goto for reasons that will become apparent if you react to it but honestly any song will do as they never miss.

My favorite band (by FAR) for the last six years. This song is a bit different for them, so check out some of their other stuff. You can almost pick at random, but I'll throw out Puzzle Official Live if you want a suggestion. But yeah, those kids did really kill it, didn't they? Band-Maid is very special. They will make your whole life better. And yes, they've been touring like crazy. They've been to the US a couple of times since 2022, they've done a major Japanese domestic tour, and even a gig in Mexico. They're overdue to go to Europe, but of course I'm hoping they come back to the US so I can see them again. The energy at one of their own shows is not something you can describe. Electric doesn't begin to describe it. It's like a tractor beam of adoration from the crowd and love for their fans from the band.

Unfortunately, they have not been in Europe for 5 years. I had the pleasure to see them live 4 times and it was excellent every time. I hope they come back to Europe soon. I would definitely go to one or more concerts again.
