I have to laugh because it's the same for me ... "Oh, no! What if she turns Kanami down?" Well, they just had their 10th anniversary so it's going to turn out okay. Akane sent a heartfelt message on Kanami's birthday a year or two ago, saying her life changed when she met her. She said she never would have been the drummer she is now, and is a better person too. Akane holds the others to a standard too. They expect a lot from each other.

Akane is my favorite drummer, but Pau from The Warning, while being a great, hard hitting drummer embraces singing also, if drumming isn't hard enough! Band-Maid and The Warning will be playing in a joint concert this summer, that should be epic!

Kanami, is a great task master, perfectionist, but great friend to each of the band members. An example: " Don't Be Long" is an instrumental by Band Maid that Kanami composed to help Miku become a better guitarist. Would you love to have Kanami as your guitar teacher?

Hello again, thank you for doing this reaction! I hope Faro feels better soon, and I hope you are having a wonderful day. When I first started listening to Band Maid and watching their music videos, Akane was my favorite because of her bright smile and her great attitude. After I learned more about them, all five became my favorites. The band members have nicknamed Akane, "Gorilla" probably due to her eating bananas at every show, and her ability to pound the drums. I can't pick a favorite now, since it would seem like I was picking a favorite child, or pet or something. Our favorite Maids released a new live video from Yokohama Arena, "Endless Story" is the title, and Saiki was really showing us how much Band Maid and she really loves their fans.

Band-Maid has many ``episodes,'' ``rumors,'' and ``legends.'' Here's the most impressive story I've ever heard. When Band-Maid first formed, there was a rehearsal. Akane and Kanami were the only two who kept to the rehearsal time, and while they were waiting for the members who didn't show up, Kanami kept crying and Akane kept getting angry. After all the late members gathered, Akane announced that Band-Maid would be disbanded. The members who were late reflected on themselves, deeply apologized, and were forgiven. The truth of this story is not clear, but I suspect that Akane was chosen as the band leader at the time because of something like this.

Another great reaction and yes, these docs are great. Some answers; "Moochi to Cheese" - disbanded due to lack of traction (also, singers really needed some vocal lessons about finding the correct pitch), drummer NAO from "Maximum the Hormone" is the inspiration for a lot of female drummers, in addition to Akane, Tamu from Nemophila. Thanks so much for this video and the others. It is amazing to learn how each of these women worked so very, very hard to perfect their craft and continue to push themselves to further greatness. I think this is one of the things that make us so enamored of this band. We all realize that what they are giving us is nothing less than their idea of perfection. Akane is inspirational. She won't settle for anything from herself that isn't beyond her best. I wonder how many of us would have continued as she did facing those obstacles to even being able to find drums she could practice with. I dare say most of us would have turned away from her path. Great, great reaction, Lady! I love your analysis and insights about the music you serve up here. Keep it up and best of luck!!!

yes, the way you pronounce Akane is more in line with how it is said. (she goes by A-Chan, not Akane Chan btw) . I will never ever EVER recommend google translate for Japanese to English and vice versa but, the way it audio wise pronounce Japanese words (and names) is rather good. Give it a try

I feel like google translate is everyone's worst enemy, but my anime loving genes do act up when pronouncing Japanese words 😆
