It's funny how many reactors complain about a 4 minute song being too short. ( I agree when it's about Band-Maid) Back in the 70s we were lucky to get a song longer than 3 minutes on the radio 🙂🤙🏼 Onset I one of my favorite instrumental songs. I've seen B-M play twice here in LA and don't expect to see any lasers over here. Band-Maid on the road keep their stage shows very simple. Light show yes, no lasers unfortunately. But they still kick ass Live. Every show might have the same song set but every concert is a little different because the Maids know they have many Maidiacs that see them more than once. Since 2015-2016 Miku and Kanami have taken over the music writing and Onset came out in 2018 🙂🤙🏼

Kanami told me B-M got the idea for "Cross" when she found that her neighbours were vampires. When i asked how she knew she said "I staked out the area". It was then i realised she was telling me another Mincho joke whilst she was doing her little swingy arms dance.😁

They are likely to include an instrumental in their U.S. tour - if it's not this one it might be "Without Holding Back" or "Don't Be Long" (or maybe they'll dust off the ever elusive "Go Nuts!"), or maybe it will be a new unheard one. There was some new music in the background of their recent press releases, so maybe one of those is an instrumental? Be there and find out!

Totally agree - because you know you're not getting the cherry picked ones, and you realize sooner how impossibly awesome their songwriting and performance skills really are - after you've chosen ten at random and they're all awesome, you just stare aghast at the screen and think "holy sh@t!" all of their songs are great!

I can't recall off the top of my head whether this is from the Studio Coast or ZEPP Tokyo blu-ray, but both of those clubs have state-of-the-art sound and lighting, so a lot of what you're seeing is in-house. Band-Maid will be doing plug-and-play venues on their US tour as well. No convoy of semi's hauling B-M equipment across the USA, that comes later, after World Domination.🙂

the first 2 albums were written by other artists. alone was the first accepted song totally by them and the only one on that album. the next album was mostly written by them and everything after is 100% them except Honey wich was a bonus track on first print world domination cd wich is a cover of a band called M.U.C.C . onset if one of their compositions

Their instrumental Without Holding Back is even better. But, it's hard to find the MV. It was never released on YT, I think, or it was one of those limited time only releases. There is another instrumental called Don't Be Long. The Dallas concert video is a good one to react to. I call this song Kobato's recital. :D

Another great reaction, Ross.. since Live Nation is promoting their upcoming tour, it's highly unlikely that they'll spring for any type of special effects.. expect a basic light show.. but the band brings their own sound guy, so the sound should be great.. I just love MISA's disappearing pick trick.. she demonstrated how to do it in an interview on Japanese radio.. so cool..!!

MISA plays with a pick and slaps in the same song and changes from one to the other very quickly! From a radio interview - - (Chris): What amazed me most about your play style is the changing of picking to slapping, and then picking again so smoothly. Some bassists may throw their picks away to slap, but you use the same pick when you change from slapping to picking again, right? (Misa): No, I don't throw my pick away. I have become better as I practiced. For the recent 2-3 years, I haven't lost any pick. (Chris): Show me how. (Misa): I keep the pick with my index finger and palm. (Chris): Then you slap the bass with your thumb and middle finger? Can you show me how you play? (then Misa shows how) (Misa): Because I've been practicing these days, I can change faster than ever. (Chris): You are mixing them up! That's awesome! (Misa): I think anybody can do it if you practice.

You asked who wrote this song. As others have answered Kanami wrote and arranged the instrumentals with the usual collaboration of Akane and Misa, but I wrote the lyrics. I can prove it. * holds up blank sheet of paper * See? That would hold up in any court of law.

There is one song that I want you to react to, or actually more but let say this epic one first. It's called "Mana" by Equilibrium. They have some good other stuff too but this is something on a higher realm. My second fav song. It is a long song 16m 22s but hey, time for a journey. My fav is Band-Maids "Smile" (single version all the way) but you probably won't react to it since it really isn't on youtube.
