If you look closely at the part when the paratroopers are climbing into the C-47, you can see the sloppy job of painting the invasion stripes. I knew a WWII vet who was a crew chief on 4th fighter group P-51s. He said they got the word to paint on invasion stripes at 9:00 PM (1100 hours military time) and used brooms, rags, even their hands to slop on the paint. The ragged invasion stripes was a great touch to the film...

In subsequent rewatches of the series,over the years, it’s amazed me how many young actors have gone on to really make their mark in film and television. It’s almost a who’s who of especially young British character actors. I’m not sure when it dawned on me that Simon Pegg plays their first First sergeant. We only see him in the first two episodes and it’s never explained but his character would have died in the aircraft that we see catching fire and crashing. That stick of paratroopers would have included their company commander among the companies HQ group. I’m glad you decided to go with this one. Thanks as always for the entertaining content.

After their reaming out by Colonel Sink, the NCOs salute Lt. Winters. After being relieved of command of Easy Company, Sobel fails to return Winters' salute. Gotta love the dichotomy.

i love how Colonel Sink re appears in the video game Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, also reprised by the same actor. Pretty cool considering the game was inspired by Band of Brothers.

The reason behind not drinking too much water in your canteen is because of cramping, sobel is an excellent trainer and everything he does is for real wartime. The spaghetti incident and running, excellent excellent training, what are they going to do when they're under attack by the Germans say wait a minute we have to finish our spaghetti

whomever edited this for the channel did one hell of a job. Best edit of all reaction channels I've seen. Super snappy and banging out all the details of each scene and never lingering. Splicing in all the callbacks at the end discussion too. mighty fine job

Troopers with us (along with Troopers from other Airborne units, and at other events during the year) in our Barrack's and at the public battle. it was this event were i grew up Drinking Prop Blast listing to stories , laughing and singing with these Troopers. God i miss them scalawags those late night drunk Grunt to Grunt talks sitting on bunks with canteen cups of Prop blast and it was this event were XXXX read the letter he got from Tom Hanks asking permission to do it. then he asked us what we thought and we shouted a big HELL YES!! lifting our drinks 100+ Drunken Troopers cheering, them were some epic hangovers

This is in some ways my favorite episode, I say this every time because it's true. If only because at this time Army noodles and ketchup and Captain Sobel were their biggest threats, while knowing what lies ahead. Be ready to learn, laugh, grow and suffer with these characters. Currahee! ♠

" Never volunteer " 🤣🤣 These men are all double volunteers. They volunteered for the Army and then again for Airborne. These are not your American citizen soldiers. This is the professional United States Army. It's too late, they've already volunteered.

@@MajorProgress shame the studios didn’t like it. I love the old one and it will always hold a place in my heart. That being said I love the new one even more just because of how grounded it is. This is NOT a 12 hour Pvt Ryan. First, Spielberg was a producer on BoB; not the director. It’s the director who would be responsible for “attention to detail”. Second, BoB is based on a non-fiction book by the same name. And that was based on the interviews you saw at the beginning of episodes.
@majormoviemadness99272 жыл бұрын
No one is saying it is, but I would be willing to bet a lot of the cam crew and art team from spr, worked on this
@MajorProgress2 жыл бұрын
Even as a producer though, Speilberg would have a lot of say in the creation and put in a lot of work to the attention to detail. That is the unsung thing about Producers. They have to put in a lot of work, similar if not equal too a director of a film. From Jump. He and his team would hire department heads and talk with historians and plan out the project, long before day one of shooting. So, no it might not be a 12 hour Pvt Ryan. But the analogy is not lost. The care that went into this was probably equal to if not more. When I watch it, it feels like a documentary with very reality based, dramatized scenes. I am in an immersive experience that also gives me context and characters, so I feel connected.
