Leeds Rhinos faced Bradford Bulls in a fundraiser for Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Rob Burrow.

I’ve watched this sport for 27 years now. It doesn’t matter who I support but this was just a fantastic day and epitomised what League is all about. Those lads are like brothers and as such it is no surprise that Leeds had their glory years. Every fan in this game has enormous respect for Rob and let’s all hope he stays here for a long time to come!

I will never forget the band of brothers wat they gave me and our suppers over the years seeing them all together for rob and jamie big day other teams ad 3 or 4 stars we ad a full set of stars I dont thing that will ever happen in my life time the trophys we won they all special in my eyes thank you to you all rob there never will be any one like you jamie too our new team I will back you all the time I know this season will be a lot better top 4 my prediction I happy with that .all Leeds arnt we .👌

As a 51 yr old i remember when Leeds was a sh!t hole. It has become a City to be proud of. Rob epitimizes how something can become great from not much. Although Rob is not great in stature, he will always be held as a giant to anyone who knows of him. The band of brothers tag has never been so apt. I was at the event, it wasn't just a game, nor was it just a testimonial. It was Rugby Leagues PROUDEST moment. Bradford players paying to play? I have never heard anything like it before. The ground was rammed, all RL fans attending. JJB was so generous to share and the golden generation were also generous with there time. We're with you Rob, as many will concur, i wish you all the very best!

His health has deteriorated over these past several months since then. He struggles to speak and walk now. It’s just shocking on what he has been through since late last year when he got the news. He is such a lovely guy to be around and he can make you laugh.

It was great to be there, something I will remember for a long time. To see all those legends of the Rhinos on the pitch again...brilliant. What a turn out for Rob and JJB.

Heart-wrenching watching this. Of course, you feel empathy for Rob, a true ambassador for the sport, but you also feel how much the whole rugby league family, irrespective of club loyalty, is hurting, and as a result, doing everything they can to support him. I played amateur rugby for many years, and have been a Saints supporter my whole life, and I'm not sure bonds this strong can be formed outside of rugby - watch Kev Sinfield's face to see how much this means to him. But this will be Rob's greatest asset as the illness progressively takes its toll: until the very end, he will have friends like this who would give their lives to save his, if they could. That is a lasting legacy that any man should be proud of, and when his young children grow up, and watch these treasured memories, they will come to know the respect and devotion their father inspired. I strongly recommend you read his book, "Too many reasons to live"

This is what this sport is all about! The support from fans of all clubs, sponsors, media and the general public has been amazing. The spirit and class from other clubs has been outstanding, especially from Bradford given their current situation. Rob was my sporting idol growing up and he thoroughly deserves all the love and support him and his family are receiving. He's truly one of the best to ever walk onto the pitch. JJB is an absolute legend already but the class and selflessness he's shown over the past couple of weeks is inspiring stuff.

I grew up in the 70s as a football mad kid .. My grandad was from Leeds and he would often tell me about his team Leeds .He have been so proud if he saw this but saying that he was always proud of his team and his sport right up to his passing in 2008 at the age of 92 . I love the fact that the Bradford team paid to play as well . Well done all concerned 👍

Its just awful to know that Sinfield, Peacock, Senior and all the others will continue to get older, have birthdays and Christmases, go out together, go abroad etc. Be grandparents and possibly great grandparents and all but one and thats Burrow. Given his recent update it doesnt look likes hes got long left and its heartbreaking.
