This song is like a ballad for a chemist with all the terms used. There's a theory that Vessel either has a chemistry degree or is a geek, the lyrical genius! Diving into the Sleep Token rabbit hole is kinda like a gambling because of the excitement and adrenaline, you never know what comes next, not just jumping between genres between songs but switching from pop to R&B to metal to ballad IN ONE SONG Question - have you reacted to any song from Ghost? If not I highly recommend reacting to 'Respite on the Spitalfields' from Impera album (the ending is pure GOLD).

just subscribed, love seeing your Sleep Token reactions in particular. It's definitely Vessel playing piano, there are videos out there of him offering piano lessons to people prior to him forming Sleep Token (obviously) in those videos he states that he has in depth theory knowledge of the instrument, can teach extremely advanced and prefers people to understand the instrument in their own way. Just thought that might be something you'd find interesting, the drummer (ii) also previously offered lessons.

I read a huge take on their chemistry shout outs on twitter somewhere by someone in the science, Vessel has some really large knowledge in the field according to them, going way back to, Alkaline is another obvious one, but he has a bunch of lyrics like such. If I find it again I will link it.

I recommend reviewing The Offering, The Apparition, and especially Euclid-which is not only the closing track to the TMBTE album, but is also a closure to the album trilogy about Vessel’s relationship woes, heartbreak, and eventual moving on with his life as a new man. It is truly a masterpiece, there are a ton of callbacks to other songs not only in just this latest album, but from their prior work as well. The ending of the song lines up with the first song in their first album, completing the musical circle. Anyone who doesn’t think Vessel is multidisciplinary, classically, highly trained musical genius who has spent a hell of a lot of time figuring out exactly what he wanted to create, not just from song to song, but in the bigger picture of each album, and the trilogy as a whole, simply has not given this man and his band an appropriate explanation. I’m mostly a fan of old music, from classical composers to classic rock. I find the popular mainstream music to mostly be pretty bland, overproduced, and superficially, algorithmically generated to click in your head after the Top 40 radio station plays it 3 times an hour. It doesn’t feel natural. It lacks humanity and creativity. It’s all so unidimensional. Like it feels like they’re trying to write themselves a cheque. Needless to say, I don’t find myself hastily purchasing a lot of modern music to add to my iTunes library. When I found Sleep Token last year, it was something entirely different. I loved The Summoning and Chokehold so much that I bought them right away. And bit by bit I listened to more of that album and eventually it got to the point where I just bought the whole thing, and listen to it the vast majority of the time when I do listen to music. I’ve still only picked through several songs from their two prior albums, but like with their latest, the gaps will all be filled in due time, and I’ll probably end up buying both of those too.

Well said. I agree that this music they are producing is so unique and blows a lot of other music away. Vessel is a master at composing and arranging. These songs are all unique and incredible and so addicting to listen to. I can’t wait for the show in a few weeks.

It reminded me of a mix of jazz and rap, in that it was more spoken than sung in a repetitive pattern with some jazz interludes. I believe he uses a Nord Electro-3 61 key keyboard and at times a Roland.

@@bobcieslinski Absolutely. When watching a reaction video, I want to learn from the professional since they bring a unique perspective to the table. Chris Liepe does vocal analysis and he does a great job talking about different techniques singers use, like Vessel. In this video, you could have done a more surface level analysis like you did here, then save more of the chord analysis/theory for later in the video for the viewers that are more interested than the general audience.

Also - if you really want to know who he is, doesn't take a crazy amount of digging. When you find THAT out, that's when the story gets thick!
