Home Free was very fortunate to have found Adam Chance to join their group. His experience with bass in his previous group has helped to mold and change Home Free's ability to expand their talents. Tim now has more leads and baritone solos too. Adam Chance can do it all as well and did a great job singing the baseline in this song.

The guys in Home Free were asked how they collaborated with Adam about his beat boxing when preparing for their songs, they said they didn't, they let him do his own thing. He intuitively knows what each song needs. There are songs where he sings instead of beat boxing, "How Great Thou Art" and "Helplessly Hoping" are two for starters. Absolutely loved your reaction, looking forward to more, especially Home Free. Blessings always and a very Merry Christmas!

You should react to Home Free's Do You Hear What I Hear. It was arranged by Adam the beat boxer. It is an older video and has Adam's brother Chris in it. Later Chris left and was replaced by Chance. But the arrangement of this song is unmatched by any other group. Distinctive!

Love your reaction Bob. Yes, everything you said was spot on. The arrangement is so good and it’s so different. I love that they used Adam’s beatboxing in this. I noticed the boys were kind of swaying to the beat too. I think It’s Chance (left in the picture) who did the growl. He’s the baritone/bass and will do bass while Tim is singing. I’m so glad you heard it because not many reactors do or comment on it. It’s amazing. If you want to hear more of Tim’s bass try Brothers in Arms (no beatboxing in it though) and you might want to hear more of Chance’s bass in I Can’t Outrun You….it’s wonderful. Good analysis and I subscribed. Have a wonderful Christmas.

It is my suspicion that dropping bass growl you were noticing was actually done by the beatboxer, Adam. I've heard him make that exact same sound in his beatboxing solos on stage at concerts. The rest of the bass was done by Chance.
@terrycassis18642 жыл бұрын
Adam Rupp is really actually a tenor - and Tim is singing baritone/tenor for most of this song. I think the drop may have been Chance although it could be a layer of Tim in production. But I think it's Chance because Tim sings the last words of the song over the bass growl at the end. Chance is too often overlooked - he's a great bass in his own right and has a delightful vocal quality. Chris was great, but Chance's addition to the group really spurred their creativity and allowed them to explore new sounds and music that was previously closed to them.

I'm sure others have mentioned about the bass drop being either Chance who is a 4 octave range star in his own right. He was the bass in his last group. Check out the instrumental interlude in their cover of Can't Stop the Feeling. Listen to Tim's trumpet imitation in the opening of Thinking Out Loud or Adams harmonica solo in Man of Constant Sorrow (or Working for a living). Austin's strumming banjo in Flowers on the wall.
