There is a cave somewhere FULL of Goliath Birdeaters. As well as these mushrooms that treat fever, but dehydrate you. A perfect combo right there. I call it Death-nugget Delve.

It's actually makes more sense for infected wounds to have to use the maggots to debride the eschar before applying a dressing.

Man, I was going to say, I know things like this would be tedious to some degree, but it would be awesome to see one on the meats in the game. Like from raw, cooked, soup, dried.... Because raw meat can save you in a pinch, if you have the mushrooms to get rid of parasites. The sanity hit is a little rough, but you get the max protein from it still. Also I know they added fats to some meats, if you make soups with them, I believe, but I have no idea which ones. Great job Gamer, love seeing a series like this.

@@UnkemptGamer Also, I know we talked about it before, but differences in tool/weapons. Something I saw someone else do, a long time ago, was challenges. Not the actual challenges for the game, but he would let subscribers come up with stuff. Like surviving with parasites, or no op build items, like no water filters, dryers.... Some of those were pretty entertaining.

Have you noticed any difference in the effectiveness of a Lily Dressing and a Tobacco Dressing when they're being used to treat venomous wounds? To my understanding, regardless of the intent of the Goliath Dressing it now functions more or less like a needlessly expensive/difficult-to-manufacture Ash Dressing: heals up lacerations more quickly and prevents infection.

I have not noticed much (if any) difference between the two. Some folks have said the lily is faster, but I haven't timed it and the results seem similar if not identical to me. And yes you are correct, the goliath dressing appears to now be an ash dressing with extra steps. Thanks for watching!

The ash dressing bit was interesting cause on the current version of the game, my experience was I more often got wound infections with ash dressings than without.

This is a great new format dude, loved it. Only thing I think you can work on in the future is your counting down from 3 before you jump. Normally it is 3...2...1...jump. Your version might take some by surprise. This video was really detailed and well presented. I have played for over 10 hours now, but learnt a whole lot of new things (for 1, I never knew that using an ash dressing while dirty was possible) Loved it and look forward to more of these detailed guides.

I think my own recommendation is keeping some maggots on store because they take little inventory space, help against a super common condition, which is also deadly. Maggots are also easy to come by.

i have one more question, it is about multiplayer, doe`s it give any option to make your on buildings undestroyable from other players..., yesterday i tested multiplayer out, someone came in and destroyed my whole work..., i saw it to late, but i kicked him out of my game..., unbelievable what kind of idiot`s mother earth is holding on this planet... one of them try to hurt me, but he couldn`t and the other destroyed everything what i had, i needed badly to rest my charakter was to tired to do anything until i got back on my feets...

Ugh, people can be terrible! There isn't a setting to make buildings undestroyable; really the only thing you can do is set up your games as friends-only or invite-only.

Very informative. Problem with me is memory. I will forget most of it. If I write it down I will forget where the note is. Much like our Multiplayer stream just on Thursday, looking up at things on a cliff while walking into a snake that I "knew" (of course forgot) was a snake spawn there on multiple occasions. Yes! Hold down the shift key while aiming and Jake will hold his breath. The more energy you have, the longer he can hold still.

The Goliath ash dressings actually heal you better than the ash dressings but they're basically the same thing just the Goliath ash is on steroids compared to all other dressings besides the honey dressing unless your poisoned 😂😂😂

Welcome to the channel! The fish should not be despawning. Is this a multiplayer save? If not I would recommend walking far away from the area (like towards the abandoned village) and then coming back to see if that fixes it. Also reload the game if you haven't tried that yet. Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is to verify files on the steam client.

@@UnkemptGamer i am playin on console (ps4) singleplayer survival, i did try goin far away i went up north to the flipped over jeep where you find the grapplin hook came back still no fish so i set up camp somewhere else for about a week came back still nothing i also tried reloading an earlier save an it still didnt work lol

And gathering 12 big stones is a pain in the rear.

How the heck do ants stitch a wound?

With their mandibles. Indigenous people would attach it using the mandibles to seal the wound and then remove the ant's body, leaving only the head to keep the wound closed. You can see it in real time in the movie Apocalypto.

Man, so get this. I just got shanked by a native. Fortunately for me, there was an ant hill nearby. I grabbed some ants, and I was all excited, because I was like, “Oh yay! I get to do the thing I just learned from Unkempt Gamer! Cool beans, yo. Let’s not die.” So I went to apply the ants. And there was no little green circle on my arm for where I needed to apply the ants o.O Is this a console bug? I’m playing on a PS4, so I’ve already adapted to not using a bow and arrow because of the glitchiness. I’m willing to go to the distance but DAGNABBIT XD;; I’ve already died so whatever, but boy, I do wish there were fewer console bugs XD;;

Big oofs.. the injuries/scrapes you get from natives and falling, you have to use a bandage. The gash you get from large cats is the booboo you can resolve with bullet ants. Sorry for the confusion, I should have gone into greater detail with your other comment!

@@UnkemptGamer Thank you for the info! I’ll remember that for the next time some hostile rams a shiv into my arm lol. With the bow, I can draw the arrow, but I can’t fire it. I’ve pressed every button on my controller, but nothing releases the arrow. I’m still open to the fact that maybe I’m doing something wrong, but as of right now, I can’t figure out what button to press to actually fire the arrow, so I’m only using spears right now. Any and all advise is appreciated, because I feel like this would probably be a game changer. XD;;
