I can forgive the MMS Kiryu (2002), Monster X, and even Mothra’s lack of paint because even though Bandai skimped out HARD on the paint in some cases the sculpts were still on point to what we see in the movie. Not only is the paint lacking with this figure but the sculpting (for the heads anyway) look very cheap and bootleg esc which is I did not pick this guy up.

Um dude and I don't want to come off as an asshole to you but those figures were trash as well and I am not sugarcoating this at all just being honest but that mothra 92 is such crap compared to even the past mothra 2003 or even the bandai creation figure that had fare better paint than that figure like why the f**** did you not paint underneath the wings and even the paint on top is missing some spots and this mothra who should be colorful and vibrant but instead looks like a bootleg! And the kiryu just looks like a shitty bootleg gashapon that could of used more paint but instead they ruined it and the monster x (along with keizer Ghidorah) are just appalling to look at and look like unfinished prototypes like how the f**** did you go this cheap Bandai! Or Toho actually since they have been cheap as f*** with Godzilla lately that it actually terrifies me that they can get this atrocious and yet come out with titanosaurus and 75 goji that are superior to these ones like wtf is up with Toho not spending a dime with Godzilla but kadokawa spends a lot of money into gamera that have been amazing lately

Thanks for the review! Totally great points about the paint! Strangely, I think this figure would have benefited more from less paint (especially around the face). The sculpt is pretty good (aside from the Muppet heads), but the paint just smeared like a last minute decision is distracting. I've seen people repaint the figure so it looks closer to the suit and man it looks amazing! If Bandai made a heavy paint version with dry brushed dark gold like the Hedorah you showed - take all my money!

Sonic Music and a bit of punctual energy just helps things flow (from an editors ear at least) it also kinda just… softens the blow when I need to go in on a release lol Regardless I’m glad you enjoy it! When my copy came the gold was much more controlled and wing paint ratio are even on both sides the rest of the figures paint is controlled and the detail was shown perfectly

Seems Kaizer here got the same treatment as his movies box office record did. Surprising Bandai is even bothering releasing any of the Final Wars monsters at all for how badly they been treating them in the paint department. Only one that I don't mind from this iteration of MMS is Hedorah since he looks for the most part fine mold and paint. Yeah better off just waiting on getting Titanosaurus/Goji 74 (totally not Toy Dreams Versions) and maybe Super Mechagodzilla and HPA Kiryu (I know you don't like that figure, but it actually goes well with the drillhand Kiryu from the pink tag era of MMS in comparison which I do have.)for MSRP prices from the USA Godzilla store. Anyway all that's left now for FW to be done in MMS 6 inch line is King Caesar, Kumonga, Kamacaras, Ebirah, Zilla (obvious GSE figure), and Pillsbury Doughboy 2004.

I prefer this Keizer Ghidorah instead of the Old one because as much as the Old one is Amazing in details in Gold and Black the Old one can't stand that well. The Old Keizer Ghidorah legs don't stand tall and Straight. I don't mind the less color but I'd rather have those 3 heads looking down at the audience like the tag shows Keizer Ghidorah and while standing Tall legs That would have been AMAZING even in less detail or paint.

I've been using HLJ for years now, and haven't ever had a bad experience with their service. Granted I think most of the negativity comes from the shipping option you choose. Some take a REALLY long time. Some take a few days. Prices applied lol -- But anyway, yeah, I say give it a shot, see if you like them and move from there!

The Supreme Cringe Ghidorah is what I'll be calling this figure from now on, I don't even like the original suit/design in the first place and I already own the Monster X MMS figure (the superior design anyway), as middle of the road as that figure is. so I have no motivation to own this. the paint application of the necks and the way the heads were sculpted really ruin this for me.

There's a lot of things this figure should've been, and it's barely any of those things, safe for being a bigger figure. I only wish the clear need to pad the year out with release after release could've been avoided for the sheer sake of some of these releases having more time to be worked on and thought out more. But... at least it's just Kaizer Ghidorah lol And not a monster I'm actually hyped up to see.

I don't think I've ever seen bandai fumble a mms sculpt until this day, before this they've always been screen accurate outside of lacking the texture depth that x-plus and monsterarts has. I think, had they saved this guy for next year, and really ironed things out, he could’ve really come out on top. Redo the heads. Hand paint it. Drop it mid to late 2024 as the cap off to the final wars line up. It would’ve been a smash hit. Here it feels like a rushed out to appease release. I’d laugh if the least suspecting FW monster to come next (whoever it may be) ends up looking like one of Bandai’s best in comparison lol

If the figure isn’t great because of material costs, they can’t make it better unless they’re willing to pay more. They’re not going to pay more if they think the figure won’t sell well, which, while unfortunate, I can understand why they feel that way. Final Wars bombed so hard back in the day Bandai dropped support of it pretty early on. That mindset may still be pretty present these days.

This is quite disappointing, even if you ignore the original release I know someone who is a HUGE fan of this design and even they don't want this one. The other final wars figures looked good, I wonder why Bandai ended up shafting both forms of the "big bad" of the film. Bandai re-uses old molds and such quite often, why didn't they here? And with the trend of Bandai seeming to keep around most wide-release figures for many years, I doubt we'll see improved versions of Mothra '92, Monster X, or Keizer any time soon. It really sucks man. But hey at least we've also got some bangers this year to balance it out with.

Certain molds that have been reused recently came from either the smaller MMS releases before the big break in the line or the Toys Dream Project, both of which are in line with the MMS sizes today. I think it might be cheaper to take figures who only saw a release in a bigger size and just redo their molds, as opposed to reformatting everything from the older ones and shrinking them down. Cheaper seems to be the name of the game these days. Keizer Ghidorah being one of the bigger and more articulated of the early MMS bunch, was doomed from the start. What seems more probable to us, might just seem too expensive to them. That’s the best I can really come up with lol I’d prefer shrunken down versions in comparison to this, absolutely. I think the most we could expect is a G-Store repaint of this guy for the 20th Anniversary next year, at best.

First and obviously foremost, this figure looks nice, especially with the details, BUT here's the main problem. The problem is that the detail is drowned by the gold paint that really makes it look half baked throughout the figure. I have the 8 inch and when compared to the 6 inch the black and gold are really intertwined with each other as the black bleed through the gold which compliments each other very well. That is the case when it was hand painted in the past, not by a machine used today. The big elephant is obviously the head. The gold really drowns the detail which makes it looks real derpy which shows it was done by a machine. Had the black bleed through the gold on the head (the teeth should've been black, not gold) it would look nice. Overall, this isn't a bad figure but the paint was the biggest offender that really did this figure a disservice. Great review!

Had they waited and dropped him later next year, I think it could’ve turned out great. But at the rate we’re going now, I wonder just how much more of Final Wars we’ll see going forward.
