Personally I hope this can stand up to the masterpiece that Budokai Tenkaichi 2 was. And also the return of Super Android 17 from GT, as well as the rest of the GT characters. Also, I understand how long, potentially stressful and complicated it is to make a game but, could we have character customisation? Similar to Xenoverse where we can make our own character of any race with any applicable movesets and special attacks? If so that would make this one of the best Dragon Ball games of all time!

i kinda dont like it. In tenkaichi 3 the ambience gets dark and emphasis is on the beams clashing, much more cinematic imo. And the rotating camera is so distracting, i wanna spectacle at the beams colliding, not get motion sickness from a spinning camera. You barely take in the clash with how much is going on. And, BUTTON press?! man...i was hoping to spin the fuk out my sticks, but I guess they're keeping xbox players in mind since they dont have the double stick layout. Still I hope they dont go with what they have as the final beam clash mechanic. itll be the only thing disappointing in the game. everything else looked NICE.

Just not the beam clash. I hope they rework it to be more like how Tenkaichi 3 was. Basically I’d rather have a Dbz Goku vs Vegeta type clash rather than a DBS Broly vs Gogeta clash. The spinning camera and dimension effect just doesn’t make it feel epic to watch. In fact? you barely watch anything with how the camera spins. I wanna see the beams struggle with a dark ambience like in BT3. The current build just spins the camera to each player until the mini game is done….doesn’t feel epic at all but is flashy for sure

The torn clothing is not done in real time it sux and no blood. When I watch anime like the fight Goku SSJ2 vs Vegeta SSJ2 I see their clothes slowly deteriotating and they have blood on their faces, arms etc. It's no big deal to do... and do it progressively. Same for the environment: why no holes in the ground related to the power you use? So lazy... it looks like it's just a sprite (and for the clothes, just a different skin, like a pre-generated "torn clothing" skin).

The camera work behind the player makes the fight feel soooooo much more alive, it’s a small detail but the shake, depth change, angle, blur and zooms give a ‘’feel’’ to the fight. It’s amazing. The cartoonish animations of the wind and sound barrier breaks also make it feel brilliant just from watching it. I can’t wait to play this. Props to the dev team, amazing job. And RIP to the goat 🙏

Man, the nostalgia train hit me hard. I remember spending a sh*t-ton of time in Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 as a child and occasionally with my Dad, even though he didn't know anything about those games and Dragon Ball in general. It was called Evolution Z . To me it is the most important feature and I was struggleing to find anyone who even mentioned it. You could even make characters worse if you wanted to, so your krillin vs Broly match can feel realistically dire with a massive power gap. Another important detail that isnt mentioned is how I want stronger passive regeneration when chararcters are on standby and the item that boosts healing on standby was BROKEN so it needs a nerf.

Please make the ki waves actually go through the characters. Not as in pierce through them but make the waves bigger so that characters basically go inside them and the rest of the wave damage the floor or whatever it hits. Veteran here too, I would honestly say (when comparing Tenkaichi 3 to Sparking Zero) that attack speed at Base Form is perfectly fine, it could be a little faster and I wouldnt complain but the attack speed at base seems damn near perfect. The Impact seems just fine for the attacks but the stun combo (Square x4 into Triangle for the stun) could be slightly more impactful when Goku punches his opponent in the gut. The full power strike that sends the opponent flying is damn near perfect tho. At Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta did have faster animations with some of there moves within their combos, like Goku's kicks after launching Vegeta upwards. And I agree, the gameplay is crisp for still being under development. And Beam Struggles are CRAZY. Breaking the dimension was icing on the cake.

RIP Akira Toriyama… words honestly can’t describe how important dragon ball is and how much impact this man has had in our lifes, with his amazing, funny and beautiful mangas and art. I could go on forever about how much I love his work and the inspiration he brought to many things we also love. Despite bad times and how sad I am mentally and other worry’s and struggles I’ve had and still deal with dragon ball was always there to be one of the things to make me better and push to keep me going, wether it was though training, incredible battles or overcoming and passing what seem to be impossible limits. I’m super grateful for the happiness he has brought to me and many other over the years. We will never forget the legacy and legends he has created. Idk where he is now but I only wish him the best, same for his family, friends, people he worked with and the community. Goodbye and Thank you… 🐉

Considering Tenkaichi games never had a consistent musical style (BT1 recycling B3 music, which was still good in its own right, BT2 going techno and having more electronic sounding music, and BT3 having more of a jazz rock thing going on), I think the new music fits in spirit really well. It feels a bit more reminiscent of BT3's music, but it has a bit more punch to it.

Loving the gameplay but one lack of detail I don't like. Is Vegeta bouncing of the rock when Goku punches him instead of sending him flying through it or making him sit stuck in the rock like in the anime. And maybe have colored ki's and the legs bend when powering up while evelated from the ground.

They really need to add auras for when you have energy but it isn't maxed out. In the other games it is like that and so far from the footage I've seen it looks dull with the characters not having an aura unless they go into max mode or whatever the hell it's called or only when charging up.

i think its better, since they dont have auras in the show unless they power up in a transformation or when theyre charging.
