I think the diversity of our subcontinent is probably our greatest strength, whether it's music, art, literature, cuisine, philosophy, you name it. Dhaka was becoming a hub for musical festivities until this COVID came along. I hope we'll get back to those days again.

I was present in the live performance of the song at Dhaka Army Stadium. I enjoyed the song sitting in the third row. I was so overwhelmed, I literally cried. I think the song is appealing to stop conflicts in the name of religion though the film was set in the context of a terrorist attack in Anurag Kashyap's signature movie 'Black Friday'. In Bangladesh, a polarization was taking place that time in 2015 between political Islamists and the seculars. A series of targeting killing was taking place and for that the song appeared to me with an additional layer. You can listen this recreated version too where the lyricist Piyush Mishra is performing, and the band members are present as the audience: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3STm5uAeJ1pnJo

You should listen to their one of the earliest hit " Ma Reva" . Indian Ocean is one of the earliest Indian Indo-western fusion bands formed in 1990s and these band members dedicated one whole album for Narmada River and Ma Reva is another name of Narmada River one of the holiest rivers of India which originates from Madhyapradesh State. Indian ocean is absolutely phenomenal. Its very old band almost 30-33 years old still performs with same energy live. They have also give music in Indian mainstream movies like Mashan, Black Friday and many more.

Bandeh is one of my favourites from Indian Ocean. My another favourite is "Bondhu". and guess what? The intro part was sung by none other than Anusheh Anadil! I think you will like Bondhu too.

The song becomes prominent in movie setting during the ongoing Hindu Muslim riots in Mumbai post the blasts. Mumbai was a living hell. All of this happened as a repercussion of Babri masjid demolition in 92
