MEAC bands have 10 tonal basses and you can barely hear them. SWAC Bands be having 5 to 8 Dynasty basses and it sound like a subwoofer surround sound. Two different styles and each brings it's unique qualities.

I have no problem with what BCU does. O just think they put too much emphasis on it. Having energy and dancing and chanting for the crowd is nice. Having potential crowd participation stuff is nice, but it can't be everything. At some point as band has to be about playing songs, having good arrangements, and keeping their book fresh.

Umm sir, Candy rain by JSU was far more better than whatever BCU played that round. The enjoyment and entertainment factor was much higher for JSU. I can’t agree with your assessment of that round 🤷🏾‍♀️

I dont think they ever bounced back from the beat down that alcorn gave them in 2016. Then jst dismantle bcu program in 2019 and again 2021 hbotb. At this point bcu is a lost cause. Although famu isn't top 5 swac band at least its trying.

We do POWER and arrangements.. you come down south and try to show power you gone get blown out. Showcase what you do well.. if I was BC every song would have been a dance song because as soon as you cross that imaginary power and arrangements line! you lose! Do what you do best and leave the stadium.. y'all see Tennessee state stay in they lane right? and they survive every battle. Lol. Bethune is the only hbcu band I know that practice stands performances. They remind me of Famu sometimes, their band is huge and should sound so much powerful. I agree musicianship is good, but with that size band you should be able to do some hella fide arrangements. To me the put all their energy in field show, like Famu.

And the award for show choir of the year goes to..... On the real, that 4th song BCU did, you can see why they got off beat. The main drum major started directing at 16:18, but the two drum majors on the left didn't start directing until 16:30 and they sped up the tempo, which made the tubas on the left side get off beat. Them drum majors had one job...smh Good thing they started doing what they do the best...sing and dance. Otherwise, they would have had to end the song early.

@@ayojones8669 naw u know nothing about the swac. U r the 2nd person that stated swac only care about 5th qtr. Not true by a longshot. There r zero qtr, halftime, and 5th qtr. Perhaps u may just be stuck on 5th qtr which is mostly ballads and less rap tune. Bcu is a lost cause, jsu destroyed them in this video and hbotb 2021. I don't recall bcu showing up to any way games 2021. Its okay to rep for your band but u have to know when bcu isn't n jsu or su league.

Yep , the focus of our program is mainly for the field. Yes we know our book is old lol and there has been slow but steady progress into fixing that now that we are in the swac. But I say to all you “Swacers” lol don’t expect Cookman to crank or switch our style into focusing on what we play in the stands . There will be new music but the style will stay the same . Dances lol drum breaks etc lol just new tunes lol

BCU and FAMU are well the Power House of the MEAC. They can't face the se Power House SWAC schools with all the dancing and mostly concerts written arrangements with no WOW! Mr Donovan Wells a.k.a Mr Deduction strives for balance sound. Here's a lil secret BCU tubas are brass and other horns are nichol which gives them a darker tuba sound and a light crisp horn sound. And of course BCU arranger been writing ✍ for over 25 years for BCU

BCU doesn't sound like anything because they only played 25% of the time except on the slow song. BCU fans always used the overflowing excuse whenever the band gets waxed. You both play clean and play with power. Song Selection wasn't great. There are multiple reasons BCU took an L
