People need to reverence in what HBCUs do in the band world. So many SU, JSU, Alumni are now on full display throughout the United States in leadership positions. Brian went hard at SU and I ain't even mad. Its been a long while, like since 2011 since TXSU has been bringing this type of musicianship. I'm all for it, even if that means seeing Brian turn them boys into a beast. Mr Taylor has a staff that can handle any noise and shut that shit up quick, but Band overall is becoming real competitive again and I love it.

I HATE that people are saying that Brian is trying to make Txsu sound like SU. If you listen to Txsu play you’d hear a lot of distinct differences in their playing styles and arrangements. First of all, for the first time in my lifetime SU actually has a school that has as good and in some cases better arrangements. Secondly, a big difference if you listen is is that Txsu b-tone section has a lot of split parts in their arrangements. Sometimes having 2nd and 3rd parts. Most of SU songs the baritone has one part. Third, Txsu unlike SU they’re actually playing with more dynamics on a lot of their songs where some songs they’ll even play mf for most of the song instead of FF or Fff.
