April may would be best time to spot animals as the forest will be dry and visibility is more . But if you wish to see dense forest then after monsoon that would be August September October .

Which route did you take from Chennai to bandipur

I went from Palakkad to Bandipur . But from Chennai there are multiple options . One route will be Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore - Bandipur and another one will be Chennai- Mettupalayam- Ooty - Bandipur. There are other routes like Chennai - Mettur- Chamarajanagar- Bandipur or via Hogenakkal too but the roads are not that great .
