Really good review man, I've owned two bandits over the years, 2001 and a 2006 model, probably get another one at some stage. You're dead on, it is absolutely a do it all bike and is hard to fault. I live in New Zealand and unfortunately I have not seen your model for sale here otherwise I would have one in my garage right now!

I just picked up a 2008 “Barn Find” 1250 Bandit S with 2,136 original miles on it. Can’t wait to put some more miles on it. My first road bike was a Bandit 600 years back.

I have a 1250 with all the holeshot goodies. Bought the bike with everything already on it. Its a torque monster for sure

Somethings to be said about over-build Suzuki's - awesome. Was looking for an alternative for touring, Great review - I think I might have found my bike!

They don't make em like that anymore (no pun intended). I've been riding my ZRX for 12 years now and love it. I had a 1998 Bandit 1200 and had to sell it after about 5 years. Why do motorcycle manufacturers feel like the back seat of a standard bike is never wanted or needed. I HATE the new look of the jacked up tiny rear seat.
@marcusmarsh51495 жыл бұрын
When you see it in the flesh you will see that the seat is not a bad size. Neither is it particularly 'jacked up'.

i got one, 2010 model, 4900$ blacked out engine, best bike i have owned, changed the standard seat, kept the stock pipe, rides hard, and great balance..

Great review, and a very nice bike. I bought a Bandit 1200 brand new back in '05 and really enjoyed it, but back then they were still air cooled and carbureted, and a bit less power than the new ones. It was still fast though. I ended up selling it in '09 to get a dual sport, because I like to ride off-road too. Now I'm really thinking about getting a new Bandit 1250, it's a really nice looking bike and I remember how much fun the power was!

You and I have some of the same experiences on bikes. My first was an '00 SV650. I've had an '05 FJR, and now I'm on a CBR500R. I LOVE the 70+ mpg fuel economy; no one can seem to touch Honda here. But I do miss some more torque, wind protection and shaft drive though... I'm touring on the little CBR now. I went from Chicago to NC and WV last year on two separate trips.

Nice and Honest review..Thank You!. I road a bandit, back in the 90's. It was super viby, how smooth is this model. I understand Suzuki added some type of counter balance ?
@Mrjulicaro6 ай бұрын
How are your rear brakes? Just picked mine up and they are super soft in my opinion
@shooter-vx7xy6 ай бұрын
I never noticed mine being awful or anything. But Suzuki is no known for their brakes, that's for sure. I use front and rear together, as per MSF.

'It's a weird bike'. Why? Because Suzuki stopped and started making the bike? That doesn't make the bike 'weird', it makes the factory weird.
@shooter-vx7xy11 ай бұрын
Eh, it has a weird production history. How about that? It's the only bike I've had that, when buying parts, there's gaps in the model history and sometimes the 2016s are left off altogether. That makes it a weird model, imo, but however you want to phrase it is fine with me.

Hello, do you know the brand & type of the tail bag on the bandit as shown on the pictures of your trip? Would be awesome to know, thx!

It's a Kreiga US-30! Thanks for watching!

Thanks. Very informative. Can you share details on your setup for carrying touring luggage, shown at 04:55? Do you put on a rear luggage rack, purchased as a bolt-on accessory? Ideas for a good rear touring bag? Have thoughts on the tank bag? I saw some options at twistedthrottle; I'd just like some more to consider.
@shooter-vx7xy6 жыл бұрын
I got a Kriega US30. It works great. As for the tank bag, it's handy but it kind of scratches the paint.

I see where Japanese bikes are dominated by the EU market..and their pollution laws..even Harleys! Yes these bikes are hard to find. They remind me of my 1980 KZ 1000. Great bike, reliable UJM Honda stopped making CB 1100 because of EU pollution laws! That is why the sobs are freezing in the winter= no coal or uranium can be used! Hooray for UJMs.

I wish it had an Aluminum frame, because the steel frame makes it quite heavy ?
@shooter-vx7xy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's an older style bike. Aluminum would be nice, but it was still a great bike.
@AustinPetDetective3 жыл бұрын
@@shooter-vx7xy Yeh its great I do also have a problem with the rear suspension it's a bit soft or bouncy, the setting is on 4 from the factory but trying to move it to 6 or 7 with the spanner is not an easy task.

It would be really nice if you Bandit owners would talk INTO your Mics, so we can actually HEAR YOU!!!!
