That’s why all Bandit Whole Tree Chippers include bullet proof drums with reinforced knife pockets, thick drum skins, and strengthened wear areas. Additionally, all Bandit drum-style chippers feature our slide box feed system, providing you with unmatched pulling and compressing power. Unlike competitive models, Bandit feedwheels travel straight up and down, powered by one or more hydraulic cylinders providing massive amounts of direct down pressure. This allows our chippers to keep eating as fast as you can feed them.
We’re so confident in the durability of the guts of our chippers, we back them with a standard 5 year/3000 hour GUTS warranty, covering all Bandit-manufactured components of the drum and feed system.
In addition to their unmatched durability, all Bandit whole tree chippers are designed for maximum productivity and efficiency. Discharge angles and maximized airflow ensure aggressive throwing power no matter the chip size, packing chip vans full and increasing tons per load. Each model is equipped with a wide profile, heavy-duty infeed hopper. The 20XP, 2090, and 2290 track come standard with weld on trays and can be ordered with optional 5 ½’ infeed conveyors. All other drum-style models come standard with a 7 ½’ infeed conveyor. These conveyors greatly assist with loading and feeding, and make it easier to feed shorter material.
All of our whole tree chippers feature a reversing auto feed that momentarily reverses the feed system if engine RPM falls below a pre-set level and automatically reengages when the RPM rises again. This ensures consistent, non-stop feeding regardless of the size or density of material. Select machines are equipped with a proportional feed system that continuously monitors engine RPM and automatically adjusts the feed speed to maximize horsepower and fuel efficiency. Use of this proportional feed is only recommended in select applications.
