I only have a headset microphone from BandLab.

A headset mic will work and get you started but depending on what you want to record you may want to upgrade. I started out with a very simple mic and slowly upgraded things as I could afford the gear.

Are you adding drums & bass? Cause I thought you eq the low ends down to make way for bass and kick

Not on that occasion. Just trying out things to make sure you can hear the differences in the recording.

Hey can u give me any tips on getting a NF type voice (nf is an artist)

That’s a tricky one to give tips on. I just had a listen to “The Search” and the vocals at the start are quite clean with not much in the way of effects. Depending on your voice you might look at rounding out the mid tone with not to much bass in the voice. A little of the track reverb that is over on the far right of screen. Don’t want anything to ambient that makes you sound like your in a tunnel. Hope that helps get the ideas going. When you do get the sound you like, save it as a custom effect sound.
