Been going crazy for weeks trying to figure out what's the issue with the EDIT MASTERING in bandlab. Whatever song you work on in Bandlab, it sounds amazing there... But I noticed as soon as I chose the universal master tab to listen, it literally muddies up the whole entire song... 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷 The volume for the beat is at default... Lyrics are very very crisp and clear... It sounds good inside a bandlab like REALLY GOOD.. but then as soon as I try to master it I always noticed that the song comes out not as crispy and it's clear as it was inside of bandlab. Lol and then I played around with the beat volume and bring it down.. then I played out the song in the universal master version.... Yes you can hear the lyrics a little better but the beat is a lot lower which is wack .. and honestly none of it may sense been dealing with this forever. It looks like the only good filter is the CLARITY ONE. But it's very flat compared to universal. Really hope whoever is reading this can understand the situation lol Look forward to any reply from the beat world. Awesome AWESOME VID mang.

Question. Whenever I click on download, it has two "menus": Original, or mastered. However, if I already mastered my track to the CD version BEFORE I even clicked on the download (as in, I was listening to the preview of my mastered track before I tried to download it), which menu do I download it under. If that was confusing, my biggest concern is that--by selecting the "mastered" menu before I download my file again--I don't want to somehow/accidentally master the file twice? It's weird because I already clicked the CD master to even get there, got opened up to that page where you download it, but then was given the choice to "original" or "mastered" whenever I wanted to download it? I'm really confused because I don't think it's possible to, if I downloaded under the "original" menu choice, it would magically reverse my initial master and make me download the same raw/beginning file I started with? But I also don't think that switching over to the mastered version (which is NOT the default tab it goes to) will somehow master it again if it's already been mastered. So, now I downloaded all three possible choices (the raw/beginning WAV from audacity, the "original" menu WAV after I performed my initial master and was taken to that screen, and then finally the "mastered" menu WAV that I got from switching off of the "original" menu on that screen to download). I have no idea what difference I should be looking for, but if you had a clear path on to which menu will hold my first, initial master--as in, just one simple CD master, for instance--I would very much appreciate it!

Sorry for the barrage of questions. :) Thanks.

@@jezwinski - Thanks for the reply! I gave it a try (still can't believe it's totally free). It sounds cluttered and the quality sounds bad. Is there anything I need to add or take away to make the finished song sound good when played on a speaker or in a car?
@jezwinski4 жыл бұрын
You have now experienced the brutal reality of mixing music. The easy answer, keep listening to what sounds "ugly" and then adjust accordingly. Truthfully, I still find mistakes in my mixes after over a decade of music production. Most importantly, stay focused on what brings you joy about making music and don't let one bad mix throw you off. Research more in-depth mixing techniques. You will get to know what frequencies sound like and be able to quickly diagnose what needs to change. Woo! I could keep going. Just make more music.

I hear you. To this day I find myself correcting my mix after listening to it in my car or in another environment. Nothing wrong with that!
