I am not a fan of Facebook myself but I still love using the Quest 2. For the price it is just the best hardware you can get right now for VR, and it doesn't even matter if you are going to use it standalone, or on PC. I personally went from PSVR to an Oculus Rift and later got the got the Oculus Quest 1. Now replaced both my Oculus devices by the Oculus Quest 2 and it improved a lot compared to the previous versions. The older Oculus devices had an issue with the controllers where the battery would disconnect for a second when moving to fast when playing Beatsaber on expert or higher and this has been resolved with a better spring mechanism. Resolution is a lot higher and it is even possible to play VR over Wireless as well if you have a good 5Ghz Wifi connection or better using Virtual Desktop and patching it using Sidequest making the link cable obsolete for me. The Quest 2 also has a good library available already.

Only got one recently, but basically exactly this. Don't like the company behind it, but it's simply the best option for getting into VR for the price since there's literally no competition. Plus I could save up for an Index or whatever and probably love it, but for instance my gf wouldn't ever think being tethered or relying on base stations is an ''acceptable'' thing lol.

The only thing I’m gonna say about the video is with the glasses separator whether you wear glasses or not wear it it makes it so much easier to put on and off in my opinion and also just feels much nicer as there’s a little bit more pressure on your head in order to keep it in place because that’s one problem I have with mine it likes to fall off unless I have it adjusted correctly but the glass separator help it

Was hoping youd mention the pressure on the forehead and that the tracking is a LITTLE slower compared to PCVR on a higher end headset. Coming from a Rift S user, I really enjoy the Quest 2 so much that I boxed my Rift S. I bought a KIWI link cable and it it works great! I also bought the Vive DAS and printed the adapter to make it a FrankenQuest 2, Great decision IMO. I was rocking the Elite Strap with the PSVR Mantis headphones but the Elite Strap made the back of my head sore so I returned it. "Virtual Reality"

I've played around with both scenarios, and I personally would suggest getting the Index controllers if you do more Beat Saber, or if you enjoy PC VR games more. Oculus Link is still a bit touchy, and the tracking on the quest is by no means as good as lighthouse tracking.

yeah but... it's really not a bad headset. it's not amazing, don't get me wrong, but it's not the worst VR-related purchase you could make. definitely better stuff you could buy, but purchasing a quest 2 would probably be far from a "mistake", at least for an average, casual, consumer. For professional use you might want to steer clear of this VR headset. At the very least, it does make a damn decent present for kids though.

The Quest 1& 2 are really nice for introducing friends to vr or if you are only playing casually, but once you wanna be more competitive and spent a lot of time in vr you cant get past an index or vive pro kit. There are other alternatives around, but they need a lot of patience and have a learning curve. Anyways it is nice to have a quest when you travel alot. I used to take my og Quest with me and play beatsaber in my hotel room

Yes, but it's pretty much the only vr headset on the market. Index is extremely overpriced and reverb g2 is made for professional use.
