Bandra Chowk Named As Director O P RALHAN | Dharmendra and Zeenat Aman Inaugurated

Avid cinema viewers cannot fail to recall O P Ralhan, the wide-eyed comedian of films like Talash, whom an anglicised Helen wrapped around her little finger by calling him Laachoo, rather than the typically Sindhi Lachhu. Ralhan was a producer, director, writer and actor from the 1960s to the 1980s. Saturday morning a chowk close to his home at St John’s Road, Bandra, named after him. Actors Dharmendra and Zeenat Aman will inaugurate it.

O P Ralhan sir was very intelligent too. Read his column in the Illustrated Weekly in the 70s. His reply to a question What is your opinion on lotteries, and he brilliantly wrote Tax on fools. Many more such brilliant answers could be read in that Weekly. And he was the first producer director to make a film with one crore in 1972. Can someone tell me Dalip Tahils relation with OPR.?
