As for artists like lordfubu, carti, icytwat, cyrax and the like, I'd call them cloud rap and modern vaportrap emulators, because they take the godfather's classic elements and apply really well thought out modern twists like higher quality sampling and basic beat construction with catchy lyricism allowing for a more mainstream audience to enjoy it more as opposed to OPN's choppy and experimental "eccojams vol. 1" LP and Vaperror's "Acid Arcadia" album compared to carti's - talk (icytwat remix) and Divine Council's "DB$B" plus many more pre and post 2015 Soundcloud mixtapes and singles. All of these artists are absolutely great and I applaud their contributions in the past to the vaporwave genre and all its subgenres and parent genres, they are all on the same highway, just different lanes..
