BANE

After 3 years of preparation, March 2019 the battle between me & Bane had finally begun...
A road riddled with challenge, depression, anguish, pain, and fear was in front of me, and I knew that going in... That was the point. With Bane, the 4th installment of the fabled Knight Project, I intended to challenge myself far FAR beyond what I understood was capable. This required the 5 Stages of Bane...
1. Preparation
2. Attempt & Fail, Trial & Error
3. Intensified Training
4. Performance
5. Recognition of Cycle
It is through this understanding that I was able to put in an entire year of performance work into this project. Not knowing how long it will take and when it will be truly finished, but knowing that whatever challenge lies ahead, win or lose it will be met head on. Bane is more than just another project, it is 12 rounds between me and myself...

Sports (parkour included), can bring so much joy, but there's something about absolutely pushing yourself to the limits that hits different. It's kind of beautiful, but sad and lonely. D Stingley took a big risk by putting out a project like this. I'll start by saying the movement is second to none. Still the meanest and the cleanest. I don't know another athlete who has the drive to perfect their lines like Darryl. I can't even name one that comes close. It's also clear that he's reached another level from previous videos. The intricacies and speed are hard to grasp until you've tried to do what he's doing or put someone side by side to see a comparison. Still I was expecting more. Which is weird to say after seeing first hand how hard it is to string together these feats. I thought we might see a new singular challenge unlocked. Maybe we did? On the second watch I was able to spot more difficulty, and be surprised by it, but in order to do that I had to skip the first act instead of enjoying the whole film for what it is. The length and the pace makes it a bit hard to focus on where the big moments come out. They almost blow by and get lost with all of the other shots. I found myself having to confirm that there hadn't been a cut in a line, and I was watching a continuous shot. Ultimately a shorter final cut would have showcased those moments better. The work vibes could still be portrayed in shorter montages. This is an experiment though, and I hope that whatever the reception is, the man keeps experimenting and growing. The youtube rithms are said to favour this runtime, so I hope that works out. Lastly the music selection could not have been more on point! The score helps carry an otherwise long cut. Anyways, congratulations on achieving what you set out to do man. On to the next!
