You could have used a tweezer to hold the rubber to paste glue to make it easier.

@audiofriends2543 жыл бұрын

To remove the overdone glue on the cone etc. you can use also a piece of soft cloth with a little water. Use of an utility knife as Stanley is at own risk.

I don't know where can i Buy rubber , i'm in mexico
@audiofriends2544 жыл бұрын
Good morning, thanks for your reply. The surrounds can be bought worldwide on www.ebay.com. We only ship the glue to Europe and the USA, because we had a lot of problems elsewhere with the customs. They want to know exactly what is in the bottle of glue (and I can't blame them). This investigation will take - depending of the country - about 2-3 months. Far to long for the package to arrive. We see that on KZbin often Aleene’s Tacky Glue is used. It’s a kind of PVA glue that stays flexible and dries up colourless. Use is at own risk. Best regards, Fred

where do we get the rubber rings
@audiofriends2544 жыл бұрын
Good morning, Thanks for your question. Normally these surrounds (or as kit for instance) can be bought on www.audiofriends.com (PayPal credit card, etc.). At this moment, due to the corona crisis, we have the 3,5"LAB not on stock. We expect them to be here in about 2 - 3 weeks. Note that shipment outside Europe at this moment is really a problem. Good evening, thanks for your reply. Criticism is always welcome. Simply because it can bring about constructive change and new ideas. So I'm very curious how you would go about this repair of mounting rubber edges. I am open to a different view, so I warmly invite you to this one. With best regards, Fred

Great instruction! I have just refoamed my first pair of speakers, in the BeoLab 6000. One thing I handled differently is the start of the gluing. I used two thin plastic straws to push under the cones (one on each side), through the speaker frame from left to right. This way the conus is pushed upwards in a centred way. I then put the rubber foam on my working table and applied the glue on the inner ring. Having the rubber foam on the work table makes it much easier to apply the glue in a smooth and neat way. I then put the rubber foam with the glue applied underneath the conus, like you put a tire on a rim. As the conus is sticking upwards, there is plenty of room to do this accurately. Thanks Fred & Audiofriends, what a great way to revive vintage speakers!

@@KolfMAKER Good morning, Thank you for your positive reply and additional helpful information. I myself have occasionally raised a cone slightly by gently adding soft toilet paper to make it easier to repair. Kind regards, Fred
