Hi! Great videos you have! I have a surround setup with beolab 5, beolab 3 and beolab 7-2. This is connected through an Almando surround processor to my Phillips tv. It works great, but I would be happy to have a processor from B&O instead. Just to make sure that sound is handled correctly all the way to my speakers. Do you know or guess that a product in that category will be available from B&O? I would be willing to replace the 7-2 with a sound bar as long as it had the necessary outputs for the other speakers.

I hope Amazon offers this item. I have seen Amazon offer other new B & O products at a discount briefly in the beginning even though $1750 for this unit seems reasonable for B & O. I have owned a few products from B & O over the years and have been very impressed with there quality, functionality and style, very minimalist.

As I see this beautiful and high quality made sound bar, it will be a great product for your newer high end TV models as Samsung, LG or Philips. With the sound bar you get a lot of value for your money. I also prefer the cheapest version. The aluminum are made in one piece. No collections at all! I replaced my Beolab 3500 with the SoundStage as a standalone, wall mounted speaker - using multiroom/Airplay. Maybe overkill, but I liked the upgraded connectivity, control from Phone App, and the sound. I probably should have just connected the 3500 to an airport express and got the same result (per your prior video). So now I will need to find a room to install the 3500 as a soundbar attached to a Television. Is there such a thing? DIN to RCA? Or only DIN to mini-jack?
@soundsheavenly
@soundsheavenly 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, I can help! The only way to connect the speaker directly to your TV is if the TV has a headphone socket fitted, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. There are two versions of Beolab 3500 speaker, each version need a different cable. This link explains how to check which version you have:- soundsheavenly.com/airport-express/155-2345-ipodtvairport-express-to-beolab-3500-mk2-cable.html#/2-length-1m/63-beolab_3500_version-mark_2 If your TV doesn't have a headphone socket fitted, please let me know, as additional hardware may be needed. In this configuration, the TV will control the speaker volume, but a B&O remote control is needed to activate the speaker before use.

And then connect Stage as the center channel - somehow via adapters - to either Line-in or HDMI-in on the Stage. And if you own an LG C9 TV too and connect an RJ45 / Ethernet cable from Stage (Ethernet output: TV) to the TV, will it still be possible to operate the TV with a Beoremote One BT? I'm guessing that only an Ethernet cable from Stage to the TV is needed to allows remote control via Beoremote?

Hi, you should be able to select the Line input of the Stage either with a BeoRemote One BT remote control, on your phone using the B&O app, or manually on the Stage controls (I think from memory, you repeatedly press the Bluetooth or power button to cycle through the sources)

@@soundsheavenly Thank you for the quick and thoughtful response! It worked only once again when i reattached the line in plug, however, after I turned on my tv, the audio source automatically switched back to HDMI as expected. And now I’m in the same spot: even after turning everything off and starting a record, the unit doesn’t automatically turn on and switch to line in. There doesn’t seem to be a way to manually select an input on the unit itself (I tried your suggestions but nothing worked). There also appears to be no way on the app to manually select an input/source... so I’m left to think the only way this could work is to purchase the remote, which is massive overkill. I’ve reached out to B&O support too but they seem to think it should “just work.” Also there’s no mention in the support documentation about using the line in input - only that it exists. Thanks! I am a B&O enthusiast, but I try to be realistic about their products, as some are good and some are bad.... Hopefully my advice can be of some help to others when they are deciding what to buy

How does this compare to my Sony Ht-St5000?
@soundsheavenly
@soundsheavenly 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I haven't heard your Sony soundbar, so I would recommend getting out to your nearest B&O store to hear the Stage for yourself. Every model of speaker has its own unique sound (much like every singer has their own voice) and there is no substitute for hearing the speaker in person, with music or movies that you know well.

@@soundsheavenly Appreciate the reply! They are similarly priced $1500 vs $1700 however I notice there is no separate sub for the Stage. Will check it out in person!

@@Puroplatino Stage is a great speaker, but it is not suitable for use as a centre channel with other speakers. If you have a second TV then I suggest keeping the speaker and having one TV with the Stage and the other TV with the existing surround speakers.

It certainly isn't cheap compared to some other brands, but the price is much less than B&O would have charged just a few years ago. I think the key will be to hear this for yourself when it is released into the stores, you may be pleasantly surprised.....

That is a very good point! B&O are years behind most other tech companies in producing their first soundbar.....except if you include the Beolab 7 speaker range, which are now being re-purposed to make excellent soundbars without their original Beovision 7 TVs.

Bang & Olufsen is synonymous of innovative design. I regret the Beosound Stage's design, it is so conventional and classical. Nothing spectacular. The designer David Lewis is missing. The Price is competitive for a B&O's product but I wonder if low bass are present in this slim cabinet. BeoLabs 7 were so beautiful. Bang & Olufsen should propose the Beosound Stage with a black matt aluminium frame. I will not buy this product.
@soundsheavenly

The design of the Stage is certainly subtle, but I can see classic (1980's era?) B&O styling in the frame of the black/aluminium version of the speaker. Not to all tastes, but I like it.

Steve Beocenters were drawn by straight lines to create simple and cubic shapes. Beosound Stage has a more sensual shape with rounded edges. The language of the designer is different.
