@@soundsheavenly a quick question. I wanted to know if I could use apple airpot express to connect beosound 9000 mk2 to beo play A9 speaker? thank you
@soundsheavenly
@soundsheavenly 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately Airport Express is an AirPlay receiver only, so it can’t accept the sound from the Beosound 9000 to send it elsewhere. However, you can use two of the 2nd generation Airport Express receivers to play streaming music from your phone to both the Beosound and the A9 speaker at the same time. To play CDs from the Beosound to the A9, a direct cable is the best option, I can help with this if required!

Hi, Yes, I can help! As alternatives to Apple Airport Express and Google Chromecast Audio, you could try Audiocast M5, Wiim Mini or any Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone to the B&O system (sorry I don't sell these devices, only the cables!). This cable will allow you to connect any of the devices listed above to the Aux socket on the back of your B&O system:- soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/67-298-minijack-to-aux-in-ipod-to-beosound-beomaster-beocenter-using-aux-din-socket.html#/2-length-1m Please set the phone volume to maximum when connecting to the B&O system - this is normal when using a portable music player with a home audio system due to the low output levels produced by the phone.

I have a Samsung TV (a new Q90) and would like to use it with my 1980s beomaster 3000 as a pseudo surround system (but with just stereo out obviously) - is there an interface that can be bought that decodes the 5.1 signal from the TV (optical) and "mixes" it to a stereo signal to go to the phono inputs of the beomaster 3000? I have the B&O running in stereo at the moment from my TV (optical to phono connector) but feel the speaking dialogue could be better. Remember there is two sets of speaker outputs on the Beomaster 3000 so thought there may be options there - ie one speaker out going to bangs and whacks and another speaker set of outs for just purely dialogue - is this daft to expect?
@soundsheavenly
@soundsheavenly 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, the B&O S8 Connection Hub is a great device to do exactly what you suggested, this links between the optical output of any TV and the Aux or Tape input of a Beomaster to convert the signal for use with Beolab speakers. You can get this at any B&O store and I can provide the cables and advice to get it working on your system. Add a subwoofer for the effects with movies and a B&O centre speaker by the TV for dialogue to get superb results from 2.1 channel stereo sound. Please get in touch at soundsheavenly.com for more details of how to do this.

Hello Mr. Steve, Your videos are a very enjoyable. I need a little help connecting a Beosystem 3 AV Processor to two Beomasters 6000. I have a surround setup with 5 pairs of speakers but I will concentrate only to fronts and surround channels splitting the fronts and heights on one 6000 from the surround and surround back to the other master. My dillema is about the output speaker 7 pin plugs on the AV3.. being 6 of them first two are sub and center, the other ones are stereo or only one channel? The second question complements the first, if they are one channel can I use the 5 pin DIN all male splitters to combine and send the singnals to masters? All my speakers are passive from 80s era and I can assure you that I look allover for a service manual or any documentation regarding the AV Processor. The user manual does not specify anything but a clue might be found in the number of the speakers possible connections presented in the setup menu. Thanks in advance and keep 'em comming!

Dear Steve, Just installed a pair “Beolab6000+Airport A1264 (with Airplay 1)” connecting ‘em with a headphone jack to RCA, just you’ve explained and faced 2 major issues: 1. The sound quality is waaaay worse than via direct RCA-jack to iPhone connection. 2. Constant 1-3 seconds lags in connection when pressing pause/play or changing volume worsen music streaming experience and make it impossible to watch videos via this setup. Could you please advice on whether I’m doing anything wrong or maybe AirPlay1 is simply outdated and I need to switch to AirPort Express A1392 with AiraPlay2? Thank you in advance!

Hi, Airpplay always gives a sound delay, this is so the sound and picture match when streaming video. There shouldn't be any issues with sound quality on either Airplay 1 or Airplay 2, this could be a faulty Airport Express or an unsuitable cable?

I'm trying to turn my vintage Beomaster 4500 with the link and speakers in a bedroom a few rooms over to being able to run my Samsung TV audio through it, however, all bluetooth receivers I've seen do not reach that far. I've purchased two that don't reach. It actually connected once and the sound was choppy the entire time due to distance. I have the 5 pin to RCA and just can't seem to find the appropriate receiver to connect to my B&O system in the room it's in to reach my TV in my bedroom. Any suggestions? I feel like the WIIM Pro may work, but I'm not certain my TV will find it as it's wifi and not bluetooth and if it was bluetooth, it wouldn't reach that far. Love to hear if anyone has any solutions.

Hi Steve. I remember watching this video a while ago but thought I would offer a bit of an update , particularly concerning Airplay. I recently bought a Roku premier device ( £29.95 from PC world )and connected it to my Samsung 4K tv, and discovered it also supports Airplay2. This tv is connected to my BC9500 with S80’s. Also the last version of Airport Express had a software update quite a while ago but long after it was discontinued ( Thank you Apple 😄) , and it too now supports Airplay2. I have 1 connected to my BC9300 with BL8000’s. Voila! I now have multi room, all working quite happily on older classics B&O, and on a budget too.I can recommend the Roku, I believe most of their streaming devices now support Airplay2. Im sure most people are already aware of this but this info may be of use to someone.

Hi Steve, you have always been very helpful over the many years. I used this setup years ago with Apple Express at your suggestion. You do mention that the volume on the mobile device has to be turned up almost full volume, but I really dislike that as a requirement. Even with the volume up, to me, the sound doesn’t appear to be the same quality as say using a cd. Is this correct or is it my imagination? Secondly, does the sound lose any quality by using the phono connector to Apple Express? Thanks for all your help.

If adding the Bluetooth device causes the noise, then this points to the Bluetooth device being the source of the issue. Bluetooth is convenient, but not the best option for quality. Running a direct cable will always give the best sound and reliability

Hi, Yes, I can help! Hi, you can use the Passive as a stand alone amplifier with a music streamer or phone, but the IR sensor won’t work. Please get in touch at soundsheavenly.com and I can explain all the options (too much to explain in KZbin comments!)

Hey Steve. How about connecting my wireless system having the Beosound Moment and Beolab 18s in my living room to the sets of Beolab 6000s and 8000s that I have in the rooms? I would like to have everything connected wirelessly and steered through the B&O App

Hi, in order to control the Beolab 6000s and 8000s through the B&O app, you just need to add either Beosound Essence or Core connected to these speakers, then you can share your music wirelessly across the house. I can help with cables to make this possible, please get in touch at soundsheavenly.com for more assistance!

Thanks for the quick answer. I actually have 3 pieces of Beolink Wireless 1 laying around and I was hoping that those can act as receivers feeding the dpeakers while the Beosound Moment can act as the transmitter. The B&O people have said it would work......but I cannot say I have been successful connecting them. And of course I will come to you for the cables. No one else comes even close to the customer experience one has with you and SoundsHeavenly!

@@bobanovski787 Thanks! I would not recommend Beolink Wireless 1 for this setup - as the Moment doesn't have a Masterlink output to activate the Wireless 1 transmitter, you would need to add an NL/ML Converter from B&O (approx. £600 GBP in the UK) in order to get a Masterlink connection to the wireless transmitter - this makes for a very complex and expensive setup, although it is technically possible and I can (of course!) hwelp with cables if you decide to buy the NL/ML Converter from B&O.

Thanks Steve. I agree, it would be a complex and expensive setup. Nevertheless the B&O support has told me that it would be possible to have the Beosound Moment act as a Transmitter itself, without having a separate transmitter attached to it, thus surpassing the need of the entire complex ML setup. Lets see how it turns out. Will let you know if by any chance they help me set it up

Boban Ivanovski I don’t think that will work, but please let me know if your B&O dealer is able set that up, I will be interested to hear how they do it.

Now that Chromecast Audio is not being sold anymore, will the Xiaomi Mi Box be any good?
@soundsheavenly

Hi, I am sorry but I have never heard of that device. I recommend that you purchase either Apple Airport Express, Google Chromecast Audio, Audiocast M5, Tibo Bond Mini or any good quality branded Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone to the B&O system (sorry I don't sell these devices, only the cables!). I can then help with cables once you have chosen which device to use.

@@soundsheavenly thank you so very much I appreciate it. I saw this unit in a movie called the photograph and I found it and excited about the purchase but I don't know if it works, so thanks again. It turns on at least.

Hi, if the remote control doesn't work, please try the touch screen controls. If the unit won't come out of standby, please try a full power off and reset for the Beosound.
