In 1992 I had taken my Maruti 800 from Bengaluru to Sambalpur.It was nearly 48 hours.For Rs 400 my fuel tank used to get filled to brim .There were not many shops on the route.Blre,hyderabad,adilabad,nizamabad ,nagpur,bhilai and sambalpur Was carrying 10 litres of fuel in jerry can. M 800 proved its worth.Zero problems,no tolls,no maps. We saw something resembling ghost at Adilabad .But not sure.
