I started watching banger/bomber racing at Hednesforld hills in the 80,s.It was more about keeping going than the jacking up stuff today.

Exactly the same in the Netherlands, early-1980's. Even the demolition derby started as some sort of 'race'. Great times.

Much better in the 70s and 80s. I don't understand why they destroy their cars by smashing into parked cars now. Maybe they don't know how to drive properly after a few laps.. I suppose it could be something in the water.

Buy them from a scrapyard, do them up run them in a banger race, sell the remains back to the scrapyard. recycling at it's best !
