Some meals are worth putting yourself repeatedly in scary places for. This would definitely be one of those meals.
Bangers and Mash
4 Pork Sausages
½ large Onion, chopped
1 Garlic Clove, minced
6 Tbsp Butter
1½ Tbsp Flour
1 cup Beef or Chicken Stock
½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. Dijon (optional)
1 tsp. Thyme
Salt & Pepper
2 Potatoes, peeled and chopped
½ tsp Rosemary
3 Tbsp Sour Cream
Milk
1 cup baby Green Peas
Pour a small drizzle of cooking oil in a skillet over med/high heat and add the sausages. Sear on all sides, then set aside and lower the heat to medium. Add the onion and garlic with 2 Tbsp butter and a little salt and cook until golden. Once the onion is cooked, add the flour and cook for another 2 minutes, then stir the stock, worcestershire, dijon, and ½ tsp. thyme in as well. Add the sausages back in and simmer it all together, adding salt and pepper if needed.
For the potatoes, place them in a pot of water with the rosemary and the remaining ½ tsp. thyme and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to med/high and boil 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash, then add 2 Tbsp butter, sour
cream, salt, pepper, and as much milk as needed to achieve a good texture.
For the peas, place them in a pot with water and bring to a boil. Cook for another 3-4 minutes after that, then drain and add 2 Tbsp butter and salt to taste.
