Hello guys, allow me to share my experience at the Philippine Pavillion, Expo 2020. Finally, I had to visit before it finish the event. Exterior: 3/10: It is not visually appealing like from the render. It didn't translate the coral reef story, especially at night, the mesh metal frameworks should've technical lightings that illuminate beautifully. I felt so bored going to the rooftop as there is no activities along the way. They should've added more murals or activities like scanning QR codes and will lead to the "somewhere" Philippines. Overall it lacked extra elements and technical lighting. Interior: 7/10: While entering the pavilion, it gave me the vibes of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC or Chicago. MOMA in short. The entire look of the place is not a typical Philippine Tourism Advertisement. For me, it's stunning! It showcases a modern approach to highlighting a piece of our culture. Beautiful lighting/sounds, good storytelling, impressive craftsmanship! Again this is just my opinion and taste. Beauty is subjective as we have a different standard of it. Btw some other pavilions like UK and China, even don't have tourism campaigns, too modern you won't feel transported to their countries. Restaurant: 8/10: The Mangrove is one of the best places to dine at the EXPO. We had Kare-kare, lumpia sariwa, Kinilaw, spring roll, turon, halo halo and gulaman. Everything is authentic and well presented. And served on proper plates and cutleries. Truly a chef table experience! Foreigners and Filipinos will surely love this spot as it translates the detectability of our Philippine cuisine. Merchandise/Shop: 8/10: Beautiful merchandise where you can shop handcrafted souvenirs from bags to accessories, they have curated Filipino cookbooks, funny statement t-shirts, ornaments, homewares, and even Filipino snacks. So to wrap up my experience, I can give a total of 7/10. Please visit, it's worth it and let me know your experience.

Been there yesterday, in all fairness the Philippine pavilion with just a limited budget has pulled off in terms of design, visuals, concepts, etc...salute to the team. Only expositions should have been provided on the architectural design for foreign visitors to appreciate. Provision of inground luminaires specially during the night would have been nice to give life to the black colored motif of the pavilion and to emphasize the beauty of the structure itself. Pls light-up a bit even just on the pathway of the first section, imagine coming from outside with total brightness, we're sort of blind caused about by the darkness in the room that we tend to walk away crawling from the first exhibit.

They should also promote Filipinos in Science and Technology, Innovations, Research and Development, AI and others to attract investments and create jobs. I like the concept though. It shows the journey of Filipinos and how far our history goes. I like the architecture and design. It just lacks the lighting show at night and design outside that was shown to look more like waves and colorful coral reefs in person based on the vlogs I watched. Expectation vs Reality.

Very disappointed on what's inside the Bangkota. we can do better specifically on the tourism marketing and on how to introduce our country to the world. I am wondering what is the purpose of joining to the expo and having pavilion. I'd seen a lot of foreigners and countrymen who are disappointed after leaving the Bangkota pavilion. We have a lot of beautiful places, sceneries, tourism destinations, culture to share to the world but i haven't seen any of pictures or tarpaulins there. We can maximize our spaces since our pavilion is a huge building but I am so dismayed and i am not proud of it. It was planned years ago but i don't know what happened. i hope my comment will not be considered as bashing, instead a statement of improvement since expo is just started this month. simple Tarpaulin or picture frames can do to market our beloved Philippines. I love my county and i am proud to be Filipino.

I agreed your comment here. And if I add more it is definitely a disaster. The Philippine pavilion is nothing but a big BLUNDER. And there is more to explicate that. There can be somebody who can file a complaint against this false idea of the author one day.

@@ahmedzain8145 a waste of money. There are a lot of brilliant minds and excellent Filipinos who can do better than this. I believed Philippines joined the Expo in China previously but then they were not able to get the ideas in improving our Dubai presentation. Look how Thailand market their tourism and how they present their country to the world. I felt mad and disgusted to the Philippine tourism department or who are behind this Bangkota marketing people who wasted time and money. I hope they could hear our suggestions and do some changes since this just the first month of the exposition and we have 5 months more to go.

Ahmed Zain They should have brought a dozen Tarsier from Bohol and a Small Tent from Lazada, no doubt hundreds will line up to see the Tarsier up close. It will have more visitors than other super extravagant pavillion. But ofcourse they wont make money with Tent from Lazada or Shoppee.

We shouldn't be considerate in events like this. we must be critical to be able to learn and improve our presentation. We have to understand that most of the expositions Philippines is present and participates to showcase who we are as a country and what we can offer, what our contribution and so on. . Where are the lessons, improvements and experiences that we had to suffice our expectations and the money we put in? We should not settle for less.

Politika at palakasan kasi kaya nganga parati.
