Soi 11 is where I stay as well. The Aloft is good (free with points is always best!) but I stayed at Grand Business this January for 1 night and it was decent. Clean and easy Sukhumvit access. The restaurant is usually pretty good for the price too. The beds were a bit hard as you mentioned.

I stayed in the Ambassador Hotel just up from where you stayed and that Sports Bar you passed on your walk is where I got food poisoning from. It wasn't very nice, so don't eat there. Very noisy on Sukhumvit Road at night when you are trying to sleep, but a great location.

Miami Hotel was an R&R Hotel during Vietnam. I was in HHD, Bangkok USARSUPTHAI 70-72. Stayed there a month wife wife and 4 month Daughter as our TLA Hotel Feb-Mar 72.

Don’t know if you know but at the intersection just past 21 go left for about 5 minutes walk there’s a great park to get some steps in lovely big lake really lovely in the morning anyway nice to see you back safe and well 👍

It's called Benjakitti Park. It's like our Central Park here. Highly recommended to go in the morning or the evening to avoid too much heat during day time.

Hi Chuck, My wife n I used to stay at the Miami back in the 80s . It was a little rustic bavk then, but comfortable. We went back there about 5 yrs or so after going back to Oz, Mama san, receptionist , bar man and the hotel taxi driver still remembered us... I think it may have changed slightly over the last 30 years..

Back in the 80s the TT Guest House was my choice for ultra cheap accommodation. Hard single bed and a rickety ceiling fan.

Bangkok is a great place to visit. A much deserved world famous destination. Much to see, good food variety - street food to top cuisine, good shopping variety - back street markets to world class malls, temples & clongs. BUT I want your viewers & vloggers to understand that visiting Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket is NOT real Thailand, these are Western settlements within Thailand.

You are correct. I live in one of Bangkok's suburbs and it is quite peaceful around my neighborhoods. I practically drives past rice fields daily. Nothing here is like what you find in downtown. Still I think I love every parts of the city, from the old town, the business district, to the more quiet neighborhoods.

I don’t mind if I’m traveling that I have a firm mattress what I don’t like is to find out that for mattress is a piece of plywood on a half inch yoga pad again I’ve had that didn’t take me long to find new lodging. That is the nice thing about Thailand, there’s something new just down the street as far as lodging . Again, I always give you a like even if you hurt my teeny weenie feelings lol lol lol glad you had a great time back in the states but it’s always good to get home wherever that may be.

Hey Chuck and Paige. I always stay at the Sinsuvarn Airport Suite Hotel SHA Extra Plus Certified B5040. it has a 4 star rating. it is in Lat Krabang Bangkok. near the airport. the staff there is very good. The variety of food in the evening and morning is also very good. you can get a cheap room there for 900 baht, but you can also get the more luxurious version for 1500 baht. I have a great time there every 4 months, plus it is very quiet at night. Maybe to include in the next stop in Bangkok? But I still really like the video. thanks Chuck and Paige.

Get some rest...its always hard for me to get rolling after a long flight...a good day or two of rest is usually in order....Funny...My lao girlfriend...Yui..flew up early Saturday morning ( 30 March) She needed to go for for a visa run (Mukkdahan)...I told her that you might be on the plane returning home...but I am sure you were on a much later flight if on that day... We live in Huay Kwang about 20 min from where you were staying...as always Cheers.

I 100% get you being tired I’ve been here space march 20 and have been waking up at 4:30 am and going to bed close to midnight. Yesterday we went to the biggest waterfall I’ve ever been to about an hour and a half outside of Chiangmai and on thur way home I started getting sick. We went to the pharmacy and picked up meds and at 10 pm I had a 101 fever. (My normal temp is 96 which is a full. 2 degrees f than the average ). This sucks! That said, you are really missing out on what Bkk has to offer if you go to bed early. Live music, the best bands play late. , you are gonna see the warm up bands. I’m saying this telling myself maybe I wouldn’t be sick if I went to bed early and had warm milk. 😂. I don’t k ow maybe when I’m your age I’ll start getting rest. (I’m older). that residual smoker smell can even be the one odd person who smoked outside, and then spent the night in the room/ smoke is just that way, it sticks to people// and when you don't smoke, yes, that is enough to smell up the room. (if someone had smoked in the room, it is WAY worse). Have Fun.

You can walk about 160 meters from TGI to Nana BTS station. While it takes about 750 meter from Travel Lodge to the same sky train station.

Cool hotel and that’s a happening area. I don’t tolerate smoking rooms but it did look good for the price. Red lobster. lol. Really? I know that a lot of times sub par American chain restaurants are better in Thailand but red lobster is Dennysish. It’s a chain restaurant and in the USA that equals low quality. I’ll be interested in seeing what it’s like. I’m at the spot where you are saying the price. Red lobster is the cheap seafood place looks like Thailand thinks it’s high class. That’s funny.
