I wanted to live abroad but made different life choices. Watching you is like seeing what the other path could’ve looked like for me. I love it!
@Paul_R120611 ай бұрын
For black women as a collective, they’re more maternal and will miss a lot as it pertains to “friends” , family and kids of the sort. Very few black women will take on that task. She’s the 4th black woman I’ve seen move to SE Asia that was on KZbin. I think white women will take on that task much quicker as they are adventurous. Myself personally, my child is grown and it’s way easier for me to pack up and leave. I’ll be there next year with no plans of ever returning here for good as long as I can help it.
@SomerDawn1310 ай бұрын
@@Paul_R1206 So true. We feel its so unfair to "family" to literally pick up/pack up and move, even if we have raised our kids up and set them up for their lives..it just feels wrong or something to live out our remaining lives carefree.
@kellonwheelz_6610 ай бұрын
@@SomerDawn13 I agree. My youngest daughter went with me when I moved to Thailand and stayed for six months before coming back home. (I stayed for about 4-1/2 years.) My Mom and aunties never understood why we wanted to move out of the country. I think for many Black families, it's the fact that they've never known anything other than the craziness that is the USA. They couldn't afford to do much more than live the life they live and have no desire to do much more. Oftentimes, I believe that fear also plays a role in keeping Black people from getting out and exploring the world.

Girl, I'm so excited for you! I've lived in Thailand, so anytime I hear of others making that move, I get giddy! 🙃 A friend/co-worker of mine, together with her hubby and their toddler, lived in a 2-br/2-bath condo there in Bangkok. It was small but still the perfect size for the three of them. I visited them a few times and absolutely adore their cute little space. I hope you find exactly the home you need in my favorite city! ❤🏰😊 P.S. I love that third condo! To have a water machine inside the building is awesome! We always had to either fill our water at the school where we taught or at other nearby machines.

Hi..in your opinion what three things have been the most life changing for you since you moved from the states...if that was the case for you. Thanks
@SomerDawn1310 ай бұрын
@@handsthatmake Great question! Would love to hear the answer..
@kellonwheelz_6610 ай бұрын
@@handsthatmake First of all, let me apologize for taking so long to respond. I literally just saw your comment today. I've actually been back in the States for five years now. I was in Thailand from December '13 thru April '18 and I absolutely loved it! 1) The ease in adapting to the Thai culture without losing or giving up my own culture and who I am in the process. Most Thai people are Buddhist, however I had the pleasure of meeting several Thai people who followed Christ as I do, and we had the most amazing conversations! If you get out daily, people in the community will get to know you fairly quickly. 2) I was an ESL teacher in a well-known school system in the town where we lived. The respect that the students, parents and people in the community give teachers over there is phenomenal! 3) As Americans, we are highly respected and regarded. The Thai government goes out of their way to ensure our safety. We (My niece also taught over there for a couple of years) did a lot of solo traveling in Thailand and never once did we ever feel unsafe. Let me also add that I ended up having to go to emergency late one night. We had no health insurance. I was given a cortisone shot, seen by the ER doctor as well as the morning doctor on duty, plus given several prescription medications to take over the following week. The total cost of that visit amounted to LESS THAN $30.00! Living in Thailand was definitely an experience like none I've ever had. So different from life in the US, yet with still a few random similarities that allow you to feel that little taste of home when you need it.
@kellonwheelz_6610 ай бұрын
@@handsthatmake I forgot to add that since I've been back, I have lived extremely minimally. Currently, I drive truck OTR, so my main essentials are with me. Aside from that, my life still basically fits into two large suitcases and a carry-on, and I love it! 😂

Looked at many High Rise Condo's and one of my Favorites is the XT Ekkamai because of the Facilites. Love the Pool and love watching Movies - so the Big Out Door TV with seats in the Pool is great.Another High Rise Condo You might look at is Q Chidlom Project , Phetchaburi . 35 and 45 sqm with a washer in most and around your budget.
