Bangkok is my favorite country for visit. Wherever I go, I always feel a sense of excitement. From the moment I board Thai Airways, I find myself falling in love with Thailand all over again. The thrill always sends shivers down my spine. I’ll be visiting again very soon!
Absolutely amazing! Bangkok became Home to so many foreigners who once lived there, that such vdos invoke nostalgia. And, owing to the peculiar good-heartedness of the Thai populace, which clearly gets captured in this vdo, that indeed, does take one back HOME for sure ❤

I was in Thailand 1971-1976 Aranyaprathet/Don Muang/Bangkok/Ban Chang and there was so much I had not seen. To this day those years are fond memories. Thank you for sharing.
The Oriental Hotel still looks the same, thankfully. Lunch at the Oriental is one of the things I enjoy most on trips to Bangkok. I miss those old hand-painted movie posters. They were still being done when I first came to live in Thailand, but disappeared some years ago. So sad that so many aspects of old Thailand have now gone and will never be seen again.

The next shot of the Siam Intercontinental is enough to make you cry now that it has been replaced by yet another shopping mall (yes a long time ago now but not forgotten. I liked the gardens and the wandering peacocks. It was a true oasis in the big city. I do admit to being a big fan of Lord Jim's and gimlets at the Bamboo Bar at the Oriental.

@@randyarmstrong1198 Someone made a comment to me a few years ago that Bangkok nowadays is just shopping malls and condos. Not quite - yet - but I get his point.

@@LearnToReadThai Part of why I moved out to Lam Luk Kha so I could still get to BKK easily but not have to endure the loss of its history and charm but alas it is spreading to here now too.

@@randyarmstrong1198 The inevitable creep of 'progress'. The old Thailand is still there in some places, but eventually they will change as well. This has been going on for a long time. Here's a quote from Mulder's 'Thai Images - The Culture Of The Public World'. Mulder first went to Thailand in 1965. "These days, however, I avoid the capital. If, during my first year, Bangkok made me happy and feel alive, it now depresses and tires me. Life there rapidly lost its charm during the early 1970s; in 1975 I chose the capital of the North (Chiang Mai)."
