10:45 .. thanks for turning the camera there.. Insaf court.. lived there in mid 90s with family in my teens.. Walked through those internal roadways every day to soi 11 and 15... me favorite though take a walkimg short cut through (inside) ambassador hotel to main road.. At the time Sukhumvit artery was all sunny road.. No overhead train or bridge..

Really enjoyed the trip from Nana up Soi 13. I stayed in Sukhumvit Residences many times. Last time was Feb 2020 for 3 weeks before flying up to Chiangmai. Fabulous location Soi 8, 11 and 15, Asoke etc. I'll be back later this year. Best wishes from me here in the UK.

My old neighbourhood! What a beautiful throwback. I remember walking exactly the same route from Nana and sometimes grabbing a burrito from Margarita Storm. The Hyde had just been completed and the Hyatt was nothing more than a bare building plot back then. In front of Sukhumvit Suites you would sometimes have knee-deep puddles during rainy season and as a pedestrian you would try to walk zigzag and squeeze up against the walls to keep your feet dry. Soi 13 is in a great location to get to Terminal 21 or Robinson's on foot. What an amazing video!

I remember back in the 90's the area where the Hyde now sits was a huge open area filled with lots of popular food stalls that reached as far back to the driveway of the Ambassador Hotel front desk area on Sukhumvit Soi 11. We used to use the shortcut from the back of the Ambassador to Sukhumvit Soi 11 to 13 even back then to get to Sukumvit Soi 15.

I spent two weeks at the Aspira Hotel just as the pandemic was getting started in 2020. A decent place with rooftop pool at a cheap price, although a bit old.

I realise you are a knowledgeable guy after watching this video. I didn't know about apartments or condos and the difference between them. There must be some very rich families in Bangkok. A question...do you own anything in Bangkok? Bri and frei east Yorkshire.

One thing you don't see in Thailand is Fire Department in any of the neighborhood. I'm wondering how would they respond to the fire or emergency situation?
@michaelb22283 жыл бұрын
From memory there is a Fire Station on Sukhumvit around the On Nut area. One New Years Eve some years ago I was in my rented apartment in the Trendy Building and could hear the sirens of Fire Engines racing to attend the fire at Anteka(sp?) which killed many people.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in November 2019. Awesome hotel, great location, very cool rooftop bar called Spectrum. I will definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency next time I can travel to Bangkok.

It's a bit cold here in the UK, although we are promised a bit warmer weather over the next few days. We built a snowman in our back way, it's melted now. Well yesterday it did. It's arms,eyes and nose are still there laid on the floor. About 7 or 8c today is the high. Not bad really. Could be upto 10 or 11c in the next couple of days !!!!!

I love using the sky walks . Last time in Bangkok 2019 they were building an extension near Nana station . Has that been finished
@globaltravelmate3 жыл бұрын
I actually started this video on that extension. Also they constructed a new part from Sofitel to Asoke.

@@globaltravelmate The reason i like the sky-walks if you are not in the mood for the people selling on the street you can get away from it all . At times it is great to mingle with the street folk just sometimes i need a break
