Bangladesh anti-government protests turn deadly with dozens killed

Anti-government protests in Bangladesh have turned deadly, with at least 90 people killed as police and demonstrators clash.
The root of the country’s unrest comes as student leaders demand Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina step down.
Prime Minister Hasina ignored the calls for her resignation and asserted the protesters were “not students but terrorists who are out to destabilise the nation”.
Thousands of protesters attacked a police station in the Sirajganj district, killing 13 officers, according to police.
The protests started last month after students demanded the abolishment of quotas in civil service jobs.
The quota reserved one-third of civil jobs for relatives of army veterans who served during Bangladesh’s independence war against Pakistan in 1971.

There was a lot of anger among the people of the country against Hasina's government because of unlimited corruption, nepotism, taking away people's right to vote, lack of rule of law in the country, taking away people's right to speak, rising prices of goods, excessive force of police on opposition parties etc. ! When Hasina government's law enforcers such as police, RAB, BGB and the government's student league applied extra force to suppress the general students' movement and killed many students, as a result of which people from all levels of the country became angry and united with the students' movement. Converts to a mass! It becomes difficult for the Hasina government to suppress! Now in this context Dictator Hasina has to resign otherwise this movement will become strong with Ganabhaban blockade!
