Bangladesh had no reason whatsoever to bat into day 3. They did look really good to be fair, but it would have been much better to declare around an hour before stumps on day 2 and bowl at the openers for a few and look for an early wicket. Thats really what lost them this game imho

Agreed they batted really well in the first innings though but 2nd innings had lost them the match

@@sfzgaming2003 I feel like they thought they could make the Kiwis follow on and have an achievable total come day 5, I really don't think they expected to have to bat again so early, so they felt really pressured to score, which led to some pretty average shots. Plus the injuries they received in their second innings really didnt help matters

Not declaring on day 2 didn't lose them the match tbh. Poor batting in the 2nd innings did.

Do you remember the 2013 Ban-NZ series in Bangladesh? In the first test, both teams scored around 500. In the 2nd innings, Mccullum made a sporting declaration after Sohag Gazi took a hattrick. Set Bangladesh 250 to win in the last innings in 55 odd overs and Bangladesh batted for a draw. Ended up with 170 odd for 3. They didn't go for the win. In short, Bangladesh have never tried to make aggressive calls in test cricket.

Yeah, I won't disagree with what they've done was totally disastrous. But, highlights can't bring the actual scenario of a match. It was hilariously an unlucky match for Bangladesh after first innings. Mushfiqur Rahim (captain) and Imrul Kayes got badly injured, whereas other players couldn't carry the team spirit from the first quarter of the match. The team spirit fallen due to emotions as 3-4 players gotten injured.
