I am from Tripura. Tripura faced average 200mm rainfall through out the state in last 24 hrs. As a result, most of the rivers flowing above the danger lavel. Already 10 people died due to this disaster in Tripura. Dumbur reservoir (area of approx. 18sq.km) crossed it's maximum capacity & hence started releasing excess water in Gumati river or else it might collapse. Dumbur reservoir serving silently both the nations since 1972 by controlling the flood.

Too much rain caused catastrophic rise in water level in all the 10 rives.. Gumti being the largest river destroyed many fields, Homes, and evacuated many people to relief camps... The main town of Agartala is waterlogged... And mainly doombur dam reached critical level so 1 gate which is automatic is opened.... If not it will create horrific conditions... Dumbur Hydroelectric project is a small project. It's electricity genaration capacity is maximum 10 mw, additional 5 mw capacity is used as reseve. The length of the Dam is 103 metre and height is 30 meter. So such a small water holding capacity reservoir can not cause flood in vast open areas of Bangladesh.This should be conveyed to Bangladeshi Government and people by the Indian Government to avoid anti India propoganda.

actually we are blaming india, because india didn't warn us before they opened the dam. So, we were all unprepared and couldn't do anything to relocate. They also opened it at night, while all people were sleeping. That's what all our media is pointing out and that's the reason why we are blaming. They could have given us at least 3 hours, even if it's little, it might have greatly helped a lot of people to relocate and minimise the death toll and all other losses.
