Sheikh Hasina condemned the attack on her father’s historic Dhaka residence, calling it an assault on Bangladesh’s history. In a virtual speech, she accused Muhammad Yunus of orchestrating a plot to eliminate her family. She claimed Yunus misused 400 crore taka, blaming him for Bangladesh’s suffering. Hasina urged students to disengage from politically manipulated protests, warning of governance failures and rising violence. She criticised restrictions on women in sports and condemned attacks on police and Awami League supporters. Emphasising that history cannot be erased, she vowed that those responsible would face consequences, warning of democracy’s destabilisation under the new regime.
