Nominated as one of the best goalkeepers in the world for 2024. I believe he was in the top 20, and the only Mexican goalkeeper, and the only one from the western hemisphere. He is in fact one of the greatest still in the making. My respects to him, he's become one of America's best players.

Ochoa actually has 3 trophies, Clausura 2005, 2004-05 Campeon de Campeones, and the 2006 CONCACAF Champions Cup. I won’t count the 2008 Interliga since it was a friendly tournament similar to Leagues Cup before the clusterfuck

@@dominguez8545 the Campeon de Campeones that Ochoa played was the old format where it was actually 2 legged, and also one of the last editions before 2015 where it’s played in the US since then. Pumas (Apertura 2004 champion) hosted the first leg, while América (Clausura 2005 champion) hosted the second leg. Which is how the women’s Liga MX does it and should be for the men’s.

The thing I'm seeing, at least early in the video, is that he does a good job of not only stopping shots, but also parrying them away from immediate danger. There are a lot of goalkeepers who are good at stopping shots, but lack the awareness or physical strength to get the ball to a safe area. They tend to concede second chance goals.

I do think he is a great keeper, but to be considered a all time great, he still has a long way to go. But he’s on the right path. I do feel like he needs a move to Europe because he seems to be comfortable in Mexico. His not bad with his feet but I do feel like he could be improve a bit more.

Mexico Currently has the best keepers in concacaf with Luis Malagón probably being the best, but we also have Alex Padilla who plays for Atlético Bilbao, And a lot of other upcoming ones like Fernando Tapia, Julio Gonzalez although is older is still a very good keeper.
