Wow, I live about 60 miles from Niagara Falls and had never heard of the Honeymoon Bridge or it's collapse until today. That is saying a lot. Both my parents and myself honeymooned at Niagara Falls. Thank you for this amazing piece of local history that I never heard of before

August 1st, 1976... the day the Alte Reichsbrücke collapsed. Same day, F1 racing driver Niki Lauda almost died in the flames of his Ferrari. What a bitter, disturbing day 😭 🇦🇹 Unforgotten.
