The earthquake myth should have used a doorway between two rooms. I would think that most people finding themselves in the front doorway of a house about to collapse would just go out.

The earthquake door led me to a perfect mythbusters myth to test. That during the bombing of London in ww2, people caught out of a shelter went to the triangular space below the staircase of those iconic London 2up 2 down houses. The theory being a triangle is a stronger geometric shape than the square doorway

I don’t really have anything big enough to duck under so it would be doorframe anyway. Then again there’s reasons why I won’t need to. 1. I’m in a big apartment building with that timber frame. 2. I’m on the first of 3 floors which puts me in the buildings strongest area, right in the middle. 3. Most importantly, I like in the UK where the strongest earthquakes you get are caused by the weekly refuse collection truck pulling up outside!

It would be great to see the hand dryer test again with those hand dryers that have the UV light built in that blow air into the hand dryer and not all over the room... I wonder if there would be a large difference?

I remember this episode revealed way too many people don’t wash their hands when it aired. There were news articles galore. I choose to believe that people’s hygiene got better after 2020.

The Stonehouse build was not right ! They did not build a "ring anchor" from concrete ! This was 4 walls free standing ....

Masonry house without any foundation? I would expect the dirt and ground move and try to move around the foundation, trying to shake it, but in general if I recall 60cm foundation? Or to the depth of the cellar.. so Xmeters... I would expect that to make it a bit sturdier than just base bricks on the ground

Agreed. I never, ever use restrooms unless it's at restaurant as they habe to maintain hygiene standards. Most public restrooms seem to get cleaned once a week or it would seem. My restroom at home doesn't smell like hot fish sauce on a turd sandwich an I ain't touching one that does.

The paper vs hand dryer - the best choice is after wiping off the hands or drying them off, use the hand sanitizer spray which you can always carry in a pocket. The sanitizer is alcochol based and the alcochol evaporates, leaving you with clean and as dry hands as you had before using the sanitizer. The toilet stalls... I'll never get over the backward design of american stalls that leave NO privacy. Any person could mount a gopro camera on the bottom part of the stick and record inside the stalls just by setting the stick down and aiming the gopro at the stall. European stalls are a lot more private, often not having ANY gap between the door bottom and floor. Often they're completely closed off with sturdy walls and wall tiles.

My best guess would be regulation. America kind of is all about letting corporations cut corners no matter what the consequences for anyone else.

21:06 the steel on the frame might be beefy and strong but i doubt the weld are :D so ugly booger welds xD and with that thick metal u want to cut the edges so it makes a V shape so u can weld it from inside out. but eh, i guess it will work. i just wont count in the results if the welds fail
