To aPrimarySource: I accidently deleted your comment but you said: "ps..i also briefly saw a russian ushanka...stolen idea son" This is false, as I have never seen a video with that hat. Plus that is my Uncle's hat that just happened to be in the room. Enjoy.

I was in the 7th grade when I first saw this video and I remember watching this video over and over so much and not knowing a single thing he was playing cuz I was garbage. I’m a second year in college now and Ive gotten better over the years, I can tell what he’s playing now.

+Kerry Ward This is things I want to see irl. Such a different landscape than Sweden. We got the woods, but its nothing compared to the mountains where people hike and stuff, they look absolutely amazing. There is no trees or any species that actually stands in water here, haha :)
gotta love adagio, pearl drums, and amazingly ridiculous videos. Hope dci was good for ya this summer!

Its for volume. It helps make a bigger sound so it projects out into the field more. With a deeper drum there is more shell to vibrate. You can hear marching drums a mile away.

@pasta_heals12 жыл бұрын
I think for resonation across the field. The larger the drum, the better the sound projects. The reason some are really thin is because they are indoor snares, for Indoor percussion/WGI type stuff because that much projection isn't required in a gym or something like that. If you tried to use a really thin one with a full corps, it wouldn't work well.

he flips the stick closest to him to the right and lets it turn over his hand (very important that it rolls ON your hand) and he catches it on the area where the meaty part of your palm is.
@Rpkist7714 жыл бұрын
I don't know about you people, but i've heard all 3 major companies, and i believe that if a pearl is tuned right it's got more gut to the sound, and doesn't sound like a table top. It sounds like this guys, which is in my opinion a gorgeous snare and a wonderful sound.

its pretty easy. hole both stick out together. the flick the stick closest to you out over your hand with with your thumb. let it roll over your hand. then catch it between the back of the other stick and the bottom of your wrist.

oh haha, i said Dynasty for quints for the tone and 50/50 for the snares cause Dynasty has tone is unmatchable and grabs your attention and Pearl for the other 50 cause its mellow but gives a warm and rich sound that no other drum can touch out there.
