I like the three little leafs towards the bottom of the neck, on the rear. Nice touch! Keep up the great work!

Wow good job recently i been thinking of building my own banjo an i actually knew who you were an am surprised that you made banjos too. This helped me figure out how i was going to do the fifth string you have a good idea doing it from the back

Sounds really good!!! I love that hybrid two-finger/frailing thing, too (2:50). You're mixing that with full-one clawhammer, too, so you get a really rich mix of rhythmic elements. I'm keeping this in mind for when mine is done.

Hi Clifton. For my Mountain banjo build I'm trying to decide whether to go with the 10 1/4 inch pot head and the 6 1/4 inches goat skin head, or to scale up to a 12 inch pot head with a 8 inch goat skin head. I have the Foxfire #3 & 6 on order from the book store and wanted to ask you if the book plans mention the back angle of the neck. I screen saved a blue print of a mountain banjo design and the neck without peg head is 21 inches long from nut to banjo pot. So what kind of scale would this neck need.

Yes, I think it was a piece of black walnut. I made every piece on that banjo!
