Video produced by my friend, Adam Sheffield, for Humans of the High Country. This was part of a longer video about mountain banjos that he did for a video project in college.

This man makes some of the best mountain banjos I've played. I'm too poor to buy one, but I stop by his stand every time he comes by our state fair

Im very interested in purchasing a mountain banjo from you. I emailed you about it today, but im curious as to the cost. I lost my job recently due to my health, and i can only afford about $430. If thats too little i would completely understand because your instruments are wonderful. Thank you for sharing this video.

2:24 ... this is nearly identical to the type of banjo I saw in a Firefox collection (I forget which volume) back in the '80's that showed how to make one.. I so wanted to build one of my own, but mounting and stretching a skin had me stumped so I stuck to Mountain dulcimers and now I build cigar box guitars!🤣

Great banjo playing that enhanced the brilliant craftmanship . I want to restore an old 4 strings French banjo with closed pot ( ext.diam is 280 mm and inner.diam is 260 mm .) The original head (skin diam. 20 cm ) is damaged and the heavy metalic support is not in good shape . I would like to replace this parts but standard supplies don't fit . If you have any idea , advice or material I shall be honored of some answer . Thanks .

Hey Kent. Thanks for your interest in my banjos. I am pretty far behind at the moment, and am not taking orders for awhile. If you want to emil me through my website, I can lead you to other builders. Thanks.

I want to start playing banjo. Would you suggest starting fretless?
@MarcSacksZA8 жыл бұрын
Most people would recommend starting with frets, it's a little bit like training wheels on a bicycle. You can of course start with fretless, but it is without question more difficult - but not impossible!
