Banjo Kazooie Moveset Mod for Project M (WIP)

Since we started Banjo, our animation process was... 1. Start with rough animations 2. Adjust timing, since all BKs animations are quite slow 3. Polish the newly timed animations. We had no idea Ultimate had a release around the corner! We were barely past step two when production was basically halted! What do you think of the differences? The similarities?

Pretty good! However a bit robotic. Hopefully you can somehow work Ultimates chipper idles and movement into the game! I also thought if you hold down air it can double as a Bill Drill :)

This is fantastic but just because he exists in Ultimate doesn’t mean you guys should lose confidence or motivation I feel he could still be unique from his Ultimate counterpart, I mean just look at the SSF2 Team, They made a version of Simon Belmont very unique from his Ultimate counterpart without knowing he would be in that game

Honestly ai'm really intereted in this mod for the talon trot alone. It made sense in ultimate as a simple dash animation, but your idea of it being a transition into a bunch of different moves? Amazing. Keep up the great work.

As a banjo main i like this recovery better than ultimate. I do, however, like that in ultimate he’s not a straight forward brawler. The Kazooie ability change is great! I’d take that over WW 100%

One thing I enjoy about the modding community is how extra they all are when it comes to the roots of a character and how the moves actually function in-game In ultimate (like any smash game really) he feels like a tribute to what he used to be while referencing the moveset and taking creative liberties on their implementation (see ultimate Banjo's up and down smash for example) but this one feels as if the moves were taken straight out of the game and implemented into smash Can't wait to see the finished product!

Even with the characters being in Ultimate such as Banjo, Piranha Plant, etc., it's cool to see how fans would interpret them into smash. This looks Banjo looks really cool and I'm excited to see what the final product will turn out like.

@@KingBobStudios Making mistakes is the fastest way to learn. so testing it and putting it into practice and knowing why exactly rng is bad from your own mistakes makes you smarter then anyone else complaining about it. So you know its a mistake you wont make again :) I think its great how you have changed through criticism.

Really great work! I would not complain if this was the ultimate moveset. You should know that your Banjo version amazed me like in all the banjo release videos. I'm sure a lot of people woul freak about how good you designed them. So you would have made a lot of people really happy with all your effort. You/ your team did a really great job on this!

I really appreciate the effort put into this even in the face of the official reveal! I dig the work already done so I'd like to suggest some criticisms to the model to make Banjo-Kazooie look better: - I feel Kazooie's wings should be bigger as they're somewhat too small visually, and also her wings were pretty big in the original game anyways. - I'm not fully aware of the style of colors the other mods are using but I think Kazooie could use more brighter colors as she looks a bit dull, even compared to Banjo and others. - Banjo could use some eye expressions for his attacks and injury animations as he looks kind of glassy eyed. - I noticed Kazooie has a black void for a mouth in the thumbnail so I think it would look better if it were colored/textured instead. I hope any of these are useful to you, and I'm stoked to see you guys buff out the rough spots and finish this great project!

Wow, I love it! I was so excited when Banjo was announced for Ultimate (I cried for half an hour) but I don't like his design in the game. Something with his eyes and snout looks so wrong. Also his moveset feels missing some staples (flinging his backback for example). I like this design way more and the moveset looks cool as well! I am not a player of this modded version but I am still glad to see this passionate work!

I see this as a great work in progress. Many of the animations require a bit of polish, I think it feels weird in some because of a lack of "follow-through"? Regardless, my only main concerns would be how would control the direction of the eggs (I wouldn't want it to be based on where the opponent is, for example), and the up-b I'm not sure about yet. If you could hold the button to initial the flight part, and if you didn't just attack out of either, but could also jump out of them, I think Banjo would be way more interesting to play as.

I just wanted to say, I think I prefer your version of Banjo-Kazooie than the one from Smash. Don't get me wrong, Smash BK is amazing and very well done, I like it a lot. But your version included what I believe are some important movesets of the character. e.g. being able to glide as when using the Fly panel. I remember each level of the original game changing drastically when I could move around just flying. And the additional combo if used while down-B is active makes it look like very fun to use. And the "shooter Mode" of Smash BK.... sounds good on paper, and it's a good reference, but most of the times I don't even use it. I'm very happy you are still working on this. And don't let Smash BK let you down, because yours is very unique

Hey just letting you know, you should really use Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, Nuts & Bolts, and Ultimate for the sound clips. The original 2 games have high amounts of compression on Banjo and Kazooie's voices, so if you want very high sound quality I suggest you rip from those.

I like your down b solution and down smash and upsmash solution a lot. I dont like the gliding stuff personally gameplay wise but I do like that gliding attack maybe you could have done the up smash and gliding attack as an up B attack with 2 faces (kinda like clouds or diddys side b). one is a leap in the air with a kick and the second down b hit is this glide attack. overall I really liked watching this content.

Gliding is a pretty bad mechanic from brawl that we were very against haha... but we also knew we wanted some form of the flying to exist as well.. out best solution we could think of was making it work similar to peach’s up b, but falls faster

I have quite a bit experience with ue4 and some programming but how you guys breached into this engine and started adding content I have no clue how you went about it. I think many people would like to see more about that process in general as it might inspire more modders onto the scene. especially with ultimate looking so neat and many artists loving to work on a product like that. what is it that you do for work, for example? I am genuinely curious about a lot of things that I see in this video.

I love that you used Pack Whack as down smash. Honestly I envisioned it as their F air but that makes a lot of sense. The worst thing you can do with these kinds of mods is just to try to import the official character and I love it when they just get creative with the move set.
