I like to watch the road course races more for the same reasons as you. But it and oval track races are two different disciplines. I think oval races are harder to win. The tracks are very wide, harder to defend the racing line, there are way more possibilities in oval track racing and you have to be good at drafting. However I think with more road course races on the calendar it will really make it harder to win a championship. I think If they could balance out the ovals and road courses to make it where you can’t be good in just one type of circuit to win the championship that would be awesome. You have to be good at both and if it was like that I think it would be very clear that the championship winner was the absolute best driver that year (as if they don’t make it hard/clear enough with the playoff system). Just my thoughts tho I’m no one to design a racing series calendar lol

The problem is this format , I'm not a big fan of it. I actually thought old chase system was better, I don't mind the stages but would prefer them not to have set pit stops. It seems the final race just comes down to who is better at that track .

You have to love the selective cautions. Blaney loses it while leading and almost gets broadsided a dozen times but no caution. Chase had a great race but the same things that caused cautions earlier in the race get ignored while he is leading.
