Superbly done mate - thanks from Australia. This video helped demystify the grading process by taking what was in my mind a very subjective process, and turning it into objective artefacts to looks out for. Certainly raised my grading knowledge an order of magnitude, now to find some notes to practice on and see if my original grades still hold.

This is a very informative. Thank you. As a newish collector, I am interested in colonials, confederate notes and fractionals. My question is/are there standard for grading these currencies?

Standard guidelines do exist. Look at www.theIBNS.org website for international guidelines. Also PMGnotes.com for standard on graded notes. On older paper money, due to age and quality of paper used, the guidelines can be more lenient. Thanks

I have 3 straps of 100 dollar bills 1000 dollars they are small head from the 1970s are they worth grading or sell them as they are want to switch them to silver or gold

Я согласен. Выставление оценок очень сбивает с толку, и не так уж много хороших ресурсов, которые могли бы помочь вам в этом.

@@4Kollector Хочется понимать саму систему оценки , грейдинга и чем они отличаются друг от друга . Важный момент ещё , как понять стоимость грейдинга и зависит ли она от цены самой боны , банкноты . В каталогах обычно при оценке банкноты дают три состояния сохранности где UNC высшая сохранность . Как я понял у UNC много градаций . К примеру он может быть - пресс а может и нет и так далее . Могут быть пятна или ветхая бумага , пожелтевшая . Не всё так просто как кажется на первый взгляд .

Оценка банкнот может оказаться дорогостоящей, а оценка некоторых более дорогих банкнот обходится дороже. На мой взгляд, оценка банкнот полезна, если: 1. У вас есть редкая банкнота, которую вы купили по хорошей цене. 2. У вас есть банкнота в отличном состоянии, ее номинал может подняться выше 66, что привлечет покупателей. 3. Вы хотите сохранить хрупкую старую банкноту, чтобы она не повредилась.
