Why compare a desert place with tropical place rich in water hill and mountains of rives, buildings are not only the sign of development, comparing oranges and apples. Come out of your narrow mindedness. There are slums in India, but thats the reality of capitalism everywhere, when money goes into the hands of very few and shows the cycles of nature. Atleast people were not taking weapons at will because of the bounties of nature or god.

The last time I visited Syria was in 06' as a student of Arabic. What a magnificent country and a beautiful people. It's sad to see the destruction everywhere but insha Allah they will rebuild. All the refugees returning with the new skills will also certainly help. I pray that everyone's experience and skills are put to good use. People don't realise how clever and industrious our Syrian brothers are, something they've proven here in Europe. I had my whole house remodelled by Syrian builders! I can't wait to visit again and this time bring my family!

I dont understand. Shouldn't 2006 meant it was in a full dictatorship and should have been a crumbling nation struggling to survive? That's what we were told over here. Did you see that at the time? Was there an underlying feeling that the people weren't free? Were the people walking on eggshells?
@mamunahmed89212 сағат бұрын
@@tdestroyer4780 it wasn't wealthy in the Western sense but the people were just so nice. You can tell there was poverty but it wasn't in your face at least in Damascus (different story when you get out of the city) as I think the economy was good enough for people to survive but not really do much else unless they went abroad or were working / high up in the Baathist party/government. People would not say anything against the government as all were afraid of the secret police. Hopefully now they can come out of the sanctions and develop their country in an equitable way.

What? Afghanistan Travelogs on yt especially Waleed travels(not promoting, I swear😅), shows Afghanistan looks great. I am impressed watching those yt channels. I don't see any vioooolence, women are walking on the streets peacefully, and I realized it's different from place to place. Some places are more conservative than the others. i realize that Afghanistan culture is modest, reserved and conservative. For example, Mazari Shariff is different from Kabul. They are more reserved and conservative than Kabul. In Kabul, you can see lots of women without Niqab walking on the streets. It's a different culture and vibe in different places in Afghanistan. That's what I learned from those travelogs. Their security is good. They also have roadworks projects since their roads are very mountainous.
