I'm so glad I stopped playing official when I did. My tribe from 2017-19 spend months trying to become alphas until we finally did on a scorched earth server. Got wiped cause a moron gave a random admin privileges during a trade at like 1am. Official is nothing but toxicity. I cant imagine playing official today with how insane the Tek got. Only way I'd play again is if they made a new game with no tek at all. Cryopods were an insane mistake and the PvP was never properly balanced. Months of grinding turrets and bullets could be gone in a couple hours just cause someone on another server was bored. Fuck Ark. It was fun up until Aberration

What happens if the servers need to go down permanently because they can no longer afford them? Does everybody get a refund? Can you sue because you can no longer play the product you bought? No, they remove your access with no warning or refunds. If your game is solely played via online servers 99% of the time you don't own that game in any sense of the word, you paid a one time rental agreement.

I mean, from what I recall Wildcard GAVE the Conquest servers to Snail and said they can police them, they weren't going to anymore, strictly because of the cheating and TEA doing their dumb shit years ago. One of the reasons Idk why people ever went to play conquest (after the give to Snail). Would have been a wake up call to Snail if everyone refused to play and actively called out the cheating from back then.

Well, this made a decision for me. Unless Wildcard separates from SG, I won't be purchasing ASA or Ark 2. Sad because I've put in over 6000 hours and have been playing since it was in development, but what's the point if this is what's going to happen? Wait, I'm no law expert, but they paid for ark survival evolved, and they got wrongfully banned despite following TOS, I'm pretty sure that'd be illegal technically if they didn't unban them as they have a right by buying the game to play on official servers if they follow TOS. this happend to my tribe (Well Selected Shrimps) on conquest 2 years ago, same thing happend to us. Entire tribe got banned because we were wiping TEA ocean pillar.

100 percent this happened to my clan like a year ago. We were raiding this clan who was giving us issues. They unsuccessfully tried to wipe us out. fast forward I think it was a week we had over prepped everything we needed. We went to war. Servers kept acting up and rolling back. Same MO as this. Eventually they did just give up. None of us got banned tho. We all felt it was weird at the time. But our friends in the clan were always streaming live on twitch and KZbin back then. A lot of us moved on during the ARK 2 BS. After all that Snail and Wild Card have done we just felt that tings will get worse so we moved on as a group. We all played WOW together for years together as high end raiders so were a well oiled group. We play FFXIV, Rust on occasion, and the one were waiting on is PAX DEI. Glad to see the back side of ARK. We loved our time there but they don't treat their player base right.

Sad even after all this time this hasn't been addressed, yeah i'm not buying anything published by Snail Games anymore so rip ASA and Ark 2 for me. In all honesty as someone who started playing Ark June 3rd 2015 before Snail games bought wildcard because they poached employee's from Stieglitz's last employer also maybe used something he developed while working at Trendy that they still held rights to so they ended up settling with Trendy. This is about the time i think Snail games starting to come in the picture because of the rumored 40mil settlement, even though Ark sold really well up to that point even with the game breaking bugs that still hurt so Snail paid the bill and we Got Scored Earth because i'm sure Snail wanted to recoup that money and it just started to go down hill from there. More Payed DLC, bugs that have been in the game since day one, very little quality of life improvements. Hell it took people dying to them start to speed up breeding. Don't trust Snail Games or Studio Wildcard. I'm sure most of the devs are wonderful people and its sad they have to work for this company.

I'm a vet. Started out in 2016 on a player dedi xbox server with some buddies. Ended up playing on a now nonexistent legacy official island 1x server a month later with the same group. We fought to become alpha of that server and held it for a year before rag came out and WC created legacy servers which meant we lost everything. During that period we were fighting dupers, speedhackers, aimbots, etc. This was the most stressful part of the game for me and I quit a few minths after rag came out. Flash forward to 2020 and the pandemic forced us to be home more and I rejoined on an official crossark. Met up with the cluster alpha and got recruited. In the time playing with them they've became close friends of mine. Ark having issues has always been a problem but both Snail Games and Wildcard are clearly the biggest issues. Shame that such a fun, competitive and engaging game concept was born from a company that is riddled with such greed and deception. Nonetheless im greatful for my time with this dino game and the friends I've made along the way.

While its disgusting that the publishers play and cheat on official servers, why are we pretending like thats the biggest problem with Ark? The problem as a whole is the community accepts the cheating and partakes in it. Snail Games could be the most honest players and the game state would still be as bad. The game breeds toxicity

"community accepts cheating" - As someone who played official PVP and constantly advocated against cheats, morale in the group tanks when you're constantly being speedhacked, aimbotted, meshed, and otherwise cheated against without repercussions to the cheaters. Ultimately if there's bad or no enforcement, players that want to keep playing and be proud of their game need to find a way to even the playing field, and end up looking the other way when cheats are used in their favor for this reason. Ultimately it's up to enforcement to at least give the appearance of trying to keep the playing field even, and they've fallen well below that standard in the past and present. You can't blame the victims of the constant cheating from trying to even the playing field even a small amount. Play on Arkpocalypse servers for even a few days and I guarantee you'll see zooming fliers at least once, or a tek punch spammer (faster than possible) on gen2. That these cheats go on unpunished for long times ultimately breeds the "acceptance" you talk of. The player base is forced to accept it or stop playing, and if you look past the cheats/exploits, ARK is still a marvelous game in so many ways, so many of them will keep trying. Maybe after the 3rd or 4th time a speed bat instantly grabs you and flies you to the world ceiling, and summarily raids your base with duped C4, you start to ask "how can I survive? How can I even this out?" It's not so strange that ultimately people become jaded and accepting that this is just the way the game is now. And yet still, people fight against the cheaters. At least it makes good twitch/youtube content.

@Kio It's that thinking on why the game state is the way it is. There is absolutely 0 reason to cheat. If you believe you have to cheat to even the playing field, then don't play and move onto a different game. Wildcard should absolutely do a better job enforcing their policies, but at the end of the day, if the community had any sort of integrity, the problems we endure wouldn't be so rampant. And to add to that first point, of what is essentially fighting fire with fire, most the time, that's just an excuse to cheat.

They're not going to let themselves be chased off by bad actors, especially when they paid upwards of $100 for the game and DLCs, and are past the point of being able to refund. Looking down your nose at players just trying to find a good time in their dinosaur game who've succumbed to some cheats to keep from being unfairly wiped and losing hundreds if not thousands of hours unfairly is just arrogance. And I'm NOT talking about people who just use this line of reasoning as an excuse to cheat. Those people likely would have cheated in any circumstance. Focus the blame where it should be - squarely in ARK's enforcement and the ease with which cheaters can still exploit ARK itself without punishment.

Im strictly a pve Ark player with over 22k hours so while Snails dirty bs hasn't affected me it is SERIOUSLY making me rethink buying ASA. Im on ps5 and there were reports of players force joining tribes that were offline and kicking everybody in said tribes and then making off with everything leaving the bases to decay. Would not surprise me if it were to come out that the same people (SG) were involved. Hate I missed this upload initially but glad I did catch it finally. Just more reasons for me to be rethinking buying ASA or Ark 2 for that matter. Sincerely wish WC could get rid of Snail Games...rhey exploit and ruin every game they get involved with.

You might want to take a look into some more videos about the official PvP community. The cheating is rampant in all tribes and the streamer admin connection privileges have existed since the beginning (there have been several instances that Shockist got an admin to show up in minutes). ALL big tribes have cheaters involved at the highest levels of management and most profit from this act (RMT is also rampant). It is far more complex than you imagine and 90% of official players have accepted that they function under cheaters (its for the sake of their "pew pew im playing an FPS" style attitude towards the game.) For having watched this happen since i started playing in Legacy, I don't feel bad in the least. It's like splitting the loot from a bank robbery then crying that you are associated with the robbery itself now. At this point, official PvP is dominated by mentally deficient humans.

It is widely known that Shockist has frequently been associated with groups of cheaters, as well as some of the others involved. Hevs acts like TEA is the only tribe that skirts the rules. Imagine being a veteran player and not acknowledging reality just to preserve you own image. The game isn't worth playing anymore with the balance being ruined by cheaters (Which is rampant through all major tribes at this point in the games lifespan).

i have spoken w dev's of games owned/partnered w snail directly (not second hand, directly). and they 100% confirmed that they have ZERO control over ban's/enforcement on live official servers and only snail has that control. They even said they are not allowed to patch / fix certain issues or even make the game better due to snail interference.

This is not even the first time something like this has happened. Back a few years ago we had some Russian come to some of the smaller server booting us, changing there name to our names and had the same clan name. we took videos and pic sent it in to ark and ark did nothing. then couple of months later all the severs they wiped got taken down and then repurposed into servers for the ne dlc. Later we found out that they were talking to someone from ark and they wanted them to take out the servers for that reason. so after that i did either my or server or friends server. Im surprised this game is even still going at this point. And if they ban everyone that attacks them then no one will be left to play.

I played small tribes seriously for 2 days recently, in that time we wiped a cheaters base who was aimbotting, raided 2 bases in the mesh, recruited a cheater so we could survive and did alpha brood mother by having a guy pull a giga out of upload by accessing a bag in the boss fight, officials a joke now days

It is tragic, but this sort of thing is endemic throughout the whole Ark 'machine'. From this being common (sadly) all the way through to the Ark Discord. I'm gonna agree with you at this point hod. I really do think wc's our ally and snail is the issue. It's a shame wc sold so much of their ip to snail back during se. They probably literally can't try to really fight or change things without threat of termination or replacement. Loosing an ally like that could mean snail follows up by putting a goon in their place. That'd be just worse over all. Granted my personal experience with the actual developers of dark and light, another game snail trainwrecked, i wouldn't be surprised if snail has some sort of death grip contract on wc like they did with unbroken studios (the actual developers of dark and light). Not gonna beat around the bush though. I think this was wc selling their soul to the devil, and he's finally collecting. Bann, people( intire companys), doping, wipe our intire island "serverfault" so we had to start from 0, server rerole, server crash got stuff that are litteraly impossible to get because of vrong in game etc our company leader said never attack them again and we had no problem again. I got banned and that’s all the explanation they gave me. I play on Xbox so it’s not possible for me to be using cheats and GM Otter deflected multiple times with the same nonsense. I literally got aim botted right before I was globally banned and when I submitted the ticket they dismissed it. I got killed by the botter, spawned on my sleeping pod, laid in it for a sec, Boom “Globally Banned”

They kept rolling back the server after any of their players died to prevent the exposure of spawned in BP's from the Snail Games devs. I watched a different video of a successful wipe of a TEA base and they showed that TEA had thousands of structures in vaults with no crafting areas and full sets of the highest level blue flak armor thats cheap to make/repair.

If multiple people buy a product and gets most of the product taken away or banned from most of the game product without due cause or breaking of the CoD, shouldn't that open up legal issues of some kind? What happens if you bought a car and the seller later took everything but the tires without reason? Or you make car a payment or a house payment and they repo without reason? I think the same principle should be applied to digital products as if it is a physical product. If not, then these issues of these digital companies cheating their customers will not stop.
