Banned! Gunnera Tinctoria / Cryptica / Manicata Propagation & sales banned from today!

Just how fast does Gunnera Tinctoria grow?
Ripples are running through hardy tropical gardeners.
Gunnera has been banned in the UK.
Whilst tinctoria has been banned for some time, I purchased a manicata, but it turned out to be a tinctoria. This is a common mis-sale.
The cross between manicata and tinctoria has been named Cryptica.
All names are now illegal to sell or propogate.

Hi, it's been a surprise to a lot of tropical gardeners. I must admit I had been deliberating a larger manicsta. Mine has really proven how fast it grows and how hardy it is as its in a container and was frozen solid last year. So it's understandable really.

This is the little sister as it were. 😊 they really do need a lot of water being bog plants. Being in Wales we don't often have a problem with water. Also in my north facing back garden works well. It does become a bit crispy in a drought so sometimes chop a leaf off.
