I really agree with what you have just said. It's not easy being a professional musician. I am a pharmacist who makes music too and I know how difficult it can get to produce great music like this one. I am so glad The Piano Guys persisted through thick and thin after all these years. Look at them now. They are so successful. Their first work of music by them that I listened was the mashup of Love Story/Viva La Vida. Ever since then, I became their loyal fan. They inspired me to continue making great music despite it's not easy juggling between pharmacy and music. I am definitely looking forward for more music stuff from them.

They say a person's final death comes the last time someone says their name. Remember those who went before, and reach out (safely) to those you know now. My daughters are the most resilient people I know - as military kids, they had to be. And yet with other hiccups and hardships they have dealt with, they have still become two of the strongest adults I know. Thank you as always, Piano Guys. We have seen two of your concerts, and the second one came fairly shortly after my mother died and after Jon's daughter died - watching him still able to play and have joy, reminded me "It's Gonna Be Ok". Something inside began to heal that night. Your music heals, guys.

Four years ago we heard you live at the National Theatre in DC and were blown away! Such style, grace and absolute talent...your love of God and your telling of His life in your life was so refreshing and uplifting. Our father was to attend the concert with the 12 of us as a Christmas gift but daddy passed away that November. We gave the ticket to our nephew Nicholas, a music lover, too. Two years ago Nicholas took his life. Both of these beautiful people will live forever in our hearts! Your music, your radiating love of your music, your joy in sharing these gifts with the world touch our hearts and put a fire in our spirit. Thank you!

Someone who will impact me for the rest of my life is my grandfather. He passed earlier this week. I've been learning more about his life. He was the head of the family. He left a righteous legacy that I want to follow. Things were tough for him throughout his life. In the end, he couldn't speak or do anything for himself. But he never stopped being sweet and loving. I think that is a result of living a life full of gratitude and love. I never want to forget that.

I read the description... My great-grandma is my hero because she was really kind and even though all the hard things she went through she always thought of others first. She died 4 years ago, when I was nine, at the age of 94. I do not remember much about her because when I was old enough to remember stuff she was sick and could not do much. One of the only things I remember is that we would go to get house and get ice cream, even if it was winter and snowing outside. If she ran out of ice cream she would close the curtains so that people would not come hoping for ice cream. She was an amazing person and we have her favorite food, sloppy joes, every year on her birthday every year to honor her. I am proud to have her name. An elementary school music teacher introduced me to The Piano Guys when I was assigned to assist an autistic child in one of the classes. I also substitute teach, and it's great to know I can go to The Piano Guys videos when students do independent math work (because listening to classical music improves math performance). It's also great for independent free choice reading time (because the fanciful imagery inspires students to use their imaginations, a crucial part of reading skills). Best of all, it's kid friendly and safe for all ages. Thank you for making the world a better place.

Someone I admire is my grandmother. I never knew her (she died long before I was born), but she sounds awesome from what people tell me. I hear stories of how she helped people (not just my family) migrate to the US from the Philippines and about how she was a godly person who used to wake up every morning and pray first thing. My mom would tell me how her mom would always tell her to work hard so she wouldn’t have a hard life in the Philippines and to always trust God and do her best for God’s glory. My mom worked hard and moved to the US and became a clinical director at her workplace. Today, my mom gives me the same advice that her mom gave her so many years ago. “Anak (my child), work hard, help people, trust God, and do your best for God’s glory and God will do the rest.” Even though I never personally knew my grandmother, I know that one day I will finally meet her in Heaven and thank her for being a positive influence and role model she’s been for the people around her, especially for my mom. P.S. - I saw a mini clip of this video on Instagram but seeing the whole thing, reading the description, and writing about my grandma made me cry. You guys are awesome! I heard about you guys about 6 years ago from my piano teacher (who’s also a huge fan). I’ve loved your guys’ music ever since. Keep doing what you do! You inspire people every day :)

What I like best about these videos is the sheer joy you have sharing this music with us. It is evident in every note. I wanted to share a story about my Grandfather, born here only two months after my Great Grandparents arrived in this country through Ellis island. Grandpa only went to school through the 8th grade, he had to start to work at this point. But he keep going, and his son, my father did too, finishing high school, joing the Air Force and making a better life for himself. They both inspired me to go further as well, as I too joined the Air Force, and retired after 20 years, and I am now pursuing my PhD... none of this would have been possible without their start.

Your music always brings happiness. And what a blessing for your children to have those stories of their ancestors. I admired my grandparents. I know my grandparents have endured some hardships in life. I hope I have inherited their resilience. My grandma passed away on Easter, and my grandpa a few years before her. My grandma wrote her autobiography for her grandchildren. She didn't have the love from her mother she would have wanted, but it made her determined to be a mom that showed her children (grandchildren & great-grandchildren) how much she loved them.

This makes me think of one of my husband's ancestors. She grew up caring for a handicapped mother, and later married a divorced man (in days when people simply did not divorce) whose family had been through a lot of discord and unhappiness. This woman poured love down the line and healed that family ever after; family members were cherished, new generations welcomed. This feeling has been passed down from parent to child, mother-in-law to daughter-in-law, and wow, I feel so incredibly lucky to have been given this gift. It makes me want to consciously pass it down to others when the next generation comes around.

You know, I could never really explain what it is that I find in all your songs that makes them all so amazing, so joyful, so full of life and emotion, and in all the shots you show alongside that music, but I think I can today. At 2:40 , there's this shot of the sun coming in, shining off the floor, and you guys just looking so joyful and elated to be playing, and I realized, it's even more apparent now that you guys are by yourselves, because the thing is, your not, all this time, for me it's never just been Jon and Steven playing music together, its Jon and his piano with Steve and his Cello, and I don't mean that in the literal sense, for me, it's like you guys have given your instruments a life of their own, a soul of their own, and whenever you guys are making music, its like you guys and your instruments are feeling the exact same way. For all the sounds you guys don't know how to make with your voices, your instruments guide you along, helping you to bring the music out of them and into the world with how well you know each other, and for all the expressions that they don't know how to make, you show them how to do it in your eyes and your smiles, and they bring that to the music they have inside of them. I don't know if this is how you guys feel, but I just wanted to share with you what your playing means, what it shows to me, thank you guys, for just being someone like you, awesome in all the ways

Love this song, beautiful ❤️! My grandma, mom, aunt and sister have been meeting together every week doing family history for the last couple years. Covid has made it difficult that we can't meet as much or at all anymore which has been hard. One awesome discovery is that my grandmother found a tape of her mother before she died. We were able to digitalize it. It was a life sketch with a message to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more. What a connection it was too hear someone I never met but who loved me and had hope for me. Thank you for your talents and dedication. Music brings out so many emotions that help heal my soul.

Someone important to me in my family history... It may sound cliche, and it's not super far back but my first thought was my dad. My dad has told me so many stories and he has an amazing testimony. When he was 9 or 10 years old, living in a country side home in West Virginia, he was converted into the church. He, his brothers, grandparents and mom would travel 45 minutes every Sunday to receive the sacrament. In the winter, they drove through treacherous snow blizzards for nearly an hour, just to receive the sacrament. I got to visit his church 3 years ago and even though I was only 15, it brought so much spirit to me. When my dad turned 18, he served his mission in the Dakota's. When he got back from his mission, my dad decided to take a large leap of faith, and he moved to Utah. He attended BYU Provo, and then eventually he found himself in Logan going to USU. One day, he met my Mom... I like to believe that if it weren't for the missionaries that converted my dad, he never would have followed a new path. I love my home. I love my faith, my family, and everything that I have gone through to lead me to where I am today. I am grateful for my trials, because through my Dad's history I have been taught that only great things are to come in my future. Many hard things may happen, it will be hard, but I will grow stronger from it. Thank you, dad for teaching me this. This cover really touched my heart. I have looked up to the piano guys all my life. I remember being 8 years old and blasting their beautiful covers on my mp3 player. I remember being 10 and my sister walked down the isle on her wedding day to their cover of A Thousand Years. I've been to their concert, and I had the time of my life. You guys really love what you're doing, and I look up to you for your light. Thank you

I am 16 years old, I am a proud member of my high school's marching band, and have been playing piano for close to 11 years now, so I always enjoy actively listening and playing along with every single song you guys have created so well in the past 10 years. My grandmother is my best friend, my idol, my hope for a better humanity. She was born in 1927 and wished to be a Nun! Her mother made her marry someone she had never met. Still, she did the best she could, she raised 3 awesome children, she built a house, a home. She lost everything in 1974 and moved thousand of kilometers away to start again, now a widow. Even today, she has a smile that makes all worries disappear! I miss her dearly ❤ because of Covid, I haven't seen her since March 😢

I've recently been learning about my great great great grandmother Marie Madeleine Justet, who was born at the base of the alps in Italy. Her family endured all sorts of trials due to their faith in God, and she left her hometown to settle in a tiny town in Southern Utah. Her legacy of faith strengthens mine. She is something to me!

Of course I have "a million dreams" of what I would like to be, based on what my family is and what they have experienced, but God comes (through the "peponi" that the Piano Guys have given me), that you am "perfect" "just the way you are". I loved this song. It's very bright and upbeat. Definitely sounding like resilience! My history is made up of many preachers, farmers, and sea captains. However, the person I admire most is my father's mother, my grandmother Mabel Flint McKay. She raised 2 boys by herself after her divorce from her husband and traveled the country in the 1930's with them to show them the country. She became a Kindergarten teacher in Florida where she raised the 2 boys. She taught me strength and how to be resilient against all odds. One of her favorite sayings to me was "to let it be like water on a duck's back"-- just let it go. I love her and miss her greatly. Thank you for the music that uplifts the soul!

I cannot describe the smile this song brought to my face. It's been a rough couple months, and the Piano Guys have given me joy through it all! I have played the piano for years and just started cello lessons! My cello teacher and I have had the joy of starting to learn some of the piano guys cello/piano duets together. You guys are amazing and so talented! Thank you for putting out such good, inspiring music. I actually got to go to this museum when I was little, the video took me back. Great new video - thank you! My mom. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She taught me to play piano and read music, she arranged for me to take classical voice lessons, and eventually I earned a BA in vocal performance. At the age of 37 Mom went back to college to earn a Music/English/Theatre degree, and succeeded. At the age of 42 she was diagnosed with breast cancer which had already entered the bones throughout her body. At the same time, she went back to college *again* to earn a teacher’s credential. We even had a few music courses together at the University! She did receive her teaching credential and even while she was teaching, she was taking chemotherapy - this was back in the seventies when cancer treatments were even more brutal than they are now. At age 47 Mom passed away, and even though I had taken leave from college studies to help care for her, Mom and her example was the inspiration for me to go back to finish my degree and perform my first solo recital, only a year after she died. So thankful for her encouragement, example and love.

I went back and read the description...I think not enough could be said about our greatest generation. Both my husband and I have lost grandparents in the past 5+ years and they knew how to value life they knew dedication and sacrifice for something worth saving and preserving, Yet they wouldn't call it those things they would just call it life and that's what you're supposed to do. We truly do have heroes from the greatest generation! It's sad to say and ironic, that with the passing of my grandpa and my husband's grandpa they brought so much music and happiness to life, they knew how to gather a family together and with them gone now, sadly that has also died away with them. So thank you for bringing that back, my family truly enjoys your music and has lifted spirits and has gotten all of us through these trying times, and you probably are the inspiration to have my dad (in his early70's) take piano lessons for first time!!! Been almost a year since i saw The Piano Guys christmas concert for the first time. First concert i ever went to, and i got to go with my wonderful father. This song recently has become a fast favorite of mine and now hearing a cover from the very people who helped make some of my warmest memories? I can’t begin to say how beautiful it is! ☺️ hopefully one day i can share this song with my sweetheart and make even more amazing memories.

Beautiful! Someone I look up to in my family history is my great-grandpa Otto. He was born in Estonia and stowed away on a ship to come to America as a young man. Somehow he ended up in Chicago, where he met my great-grandma, who was Swedish. He fell upon hard times, I think before he met my great-grandma, and ended up at the Pacific Garden Mission, which is still in Chicago to this day, and that's where he got saved. Later in life, the mission wanted to do a series about him on their radio program Unshackled, but he declined. It's just a really cool story to me. 😊

This year has been the hardest year of my life. I battled depression for a long time when everything I knew was taken due to the pandemic. I had a very sick mother who left for 9 months to a medical facility and I was never able to see or speak with her. But when I was in my lowest of lows I listened to you guys. Five years ago, I had a saddle PE, which means massive clots in both lungs. Rt lung fully clotted and left %50 clotted. Most people don't survive this type of blood clot. I should have died, but did not. When I was released from the hospital a week later, I played your music 24/7 . It took me to a place where I could relax and forget about what I had just experienced . My soul was at peace and this helped me to recover well from the PE. Your music helps to remind me that life is precious. I love your music, it calms my soul. Thank you.

This week I learned that I am a direct descendent of ten people who sailed on the Mayflower. I am always amazed of the courage to leave everything you know because you know there is something better out there for you. I also loved the stories of my Grandpa who was born in 1920. The stories growing up during the Great Depression, trying several times to enlist during World War II, but being told he was too skinny (thanks to starving during the Great Depression), so he drank milkshakes every night until he weight just enough to enlist. The stories of his 96 years of life were always inspiring and incredible because of who he was, and the Greatest Generation he was a part of. I know this isn't in my ancestry, but another hero of mine is my five-year-old son. He was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, just after his third birthday. The incredibly difficult things he had to endure and work through, still amaze me today. He is my miracle boy and I have continued to learn that I can do hard things.

Absolutely beautiful! It actually brought tears to my eyes for a couple of reasons, especially after reading Steven's story. I currently work in a museum that just had to close it's doors again to the public. I'm sitting at my desk in an empty Museum full of history. History I thought I would never had thought I was tied to because I didn't grow up here. But found out recently my great grandfather knew and worked with one of the men who helped build this town. My great grandfather was a pilot, one of the first to fly postal runs actually. But he lived in California, not Oregon. But he flew the planes this man from my area created. (There's a lot more to the story and it's the FIRST time I've ever been interested in doing family history) Thanks for the music, the inspiration and your love you express through your creations. Keep up the amazing work! Looking forward to more from The Piano Guys in the future! 😍

My maternal grandpa masterminded his children's escape from Vietnam after the war, staying behind as a safety net in case they were caught and turned around (thankfully, that did not happen). My favourite story about him was his shrine to Ho Chi Minh: he bought a big bundle of incense, lit it all at once, and "accidentally" burned the photograph. Since he had so clearly tried to display his ardent devotion, he got off scot-free.

I would have to say my "ancestral hero" is my Dad. He was 46 when he passed away and I was 28. Now I'm 54 and find it so strange to be almost a decade older than when he left us. But he was a man of quiet, solid faith, with a passion for football and gardening. He was gone too soon but I know I will see him again. Steven, your writing inspires! Libraries have always given me a sense of belonging, as if being surrounded by stories and history somehow made me a part of them. My Grandfather quarantined off Ellis Island in 1902. They could not leave the ship because so many were sick, dying, or had died. My history includes quarantine, hope, and taking advantage of opportunities given. I appreciate that you put so much thought into what you do, and how you portray your stories in both music and video. I have seen you in person twice, and laughed and cried both times. God Bless.

My grandfather is really someone who I think overcame every issue he faced, and provided for his children who are all now successful. He went from sleeping on benches, looking for night jobs while working a day job, to giving back to his community at his older age, through charitable work and donations back to India or to temples. Truly someone I look up to.

WOW! My initial reaction was, well, this is good. I don't recognize the original song at all. Then I went and listed to Banners. THANK YOU so much for pointing out an artist and hymn that I had somehow completely missed! On second, and third, etc. listens, this cover audibly and visually connects the visceral reaction I had to Banners' intense ballad to my ancestors. Rev. Johannes Theodore Polhemus was a refugee, abducted by pirates twice, and eventually settled in success on Long Island before it became New York. (10th Great-Grandfather ;)

Someone in my history whom I admire... Well, I definitely admire my great-grandfather, a man who after 40 years of preaching said that there wasn't a day that went by that he didn't learn something new from the Bible. Of course, there are others like a great uncle (not sure how many greats) for who the song "Captain Estill's Grand March" was written, or the much more famous people in my ancestry, like my 27th great grandfather, William the Conqueror. :)
